Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are 'normal parents' raising their daughters away from the spotlight
Despite their own careers, which are largely wound around showbiz, the couple revealed that they never considered raising their girls in Hollywood
Despite being in the thick of their careers, for both Emily Blunt and her husband John Krasinski, family always comes first. “Their careers may be busy, but they have a great family life,” a source close to the couple revealed quite recently.
Blunt and Krasinski are parents to two daughters — 4-year-old Hazel and 2-year-old Violet.
“Most of the time, they’re just normal parents taking their kids to birthday parties and playdates,” the source explained. “On the weekend they’re all out having brunch and playing at the park.”
The famous couple has successfully managed to keep their daughters away from the constant media scrutiny most star kids fall under. Despite their own careers, which are largely built around showbiz, the couple revealed that they never considered raising their girls in Hollywood.
“We felt that existential magnet pull us back,” Krasinski, a Boston native, told US Magazine. “We wanted to be closer to our families, to share our experiences with them.” An insider added that the couple, who recently moved from Brooklyn to a town north of the city, “like to blend in” when they are out in public as a family.
The source said, “They hide by the waiter station and watch from the shadows.” The 'Mary Poppins Returns' star and the 'Jack Ryan' actor got married in 2010 after two years of dating. As for who asked whom out, "Probably me, I think," Blunt says. But Krasinski cleared the air about it one final time.
The 'Jack Ryan' star said in an interview earlier this month, "It was me asking for a while and you took some time, and then we finally had a date." Their first evening together involved pizza and his apartment in West Hollywood, but as Kransinski paused while answering, Blunt stepped in to save her husband.
“It’s so precious, I don’t want to talk about it,” Blunt said after referring to her husband as “Kras,” the nickname she's given to her husband. “Is that all right?”
According to an insider, the couple is still very much in love, even after all these years of marriage and having two daughters. “It’s the subtle ways they connect with each other through their facial expressions, body language, and touch,” the source says. “There’s not much distance between them when they’re in a room. They keep an eye on each other.”
