In an interview with Meaww, Hennigan spoke about his arrival at 'Impact Wrestling', his thoughts about the parallels between the world of film and professional wrestling and much more. Starting off the conversation about his arrival at 'Impact Wrestling' he spoke about how wrestling has evolved, because just five years ago companies wanted their wrestlers to be exclusive. He revealed how he decided to take some time off of wrestling and pursue his passion for acting, writing and producing films and how that gave him the opportunity to work with people he likes.

Coming back to his decision to move to 'Impact Wrestling', Hennigan said "With Impact Wrestling outside of WWE and everything it felt like a perfect time. It is currently one among the best in the world, and there are a lot of talented guys in Impact. With the guys getting hungry, the product is also getting better and I feel like I am a part of that. And that is what I wanted to do in wrestling. I want to be a part of a hungry promotion. I wanted to improve myself and not just boast on my past achievements."

Talking about who he is yet to face in the ring, he revealed there are so many people he would like to face, but the main person is Kazuchika Okada from Japan, who is a four-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Following his wish to face Okada in the ring, Hennigan revealed he feels he has more to achieve in the realm of wrestling. "I always feel like there is a weird balance between happiness, achievement, and ambition. It is tricky to be happy with what you've achieved and to keep your ambitions high in order to achieve more," the pro wrestler unveiled.

"And I've always been less happy with what I have and what I have achieved in the past because it keeps me motivated to achieve more in the future. So, I believe that my work has hardly even started. I have a ton of stuff I want to do in wrestling," he added. When asked about his thoughts on there being a parallel between the world of film and professional wrestling, the Lucha Underground Championship winner said: "Yes, ultimately pro wrestling, film, TV, theatre, concerts, anything that you label as entertainment is all storytelling and the point of it is to all convey an emotion and make people feel something. That is why I watch those, I mean you watch it for different reasons, but it all boils down to one word which is emotion."

Juggling between two careers is definitely hectic and the same goes for the professional wrestler/actor too. Revealing as to how he manages his hectic schedule, he said, "It is tough, and it is totally another struggle between going with films and taking whatever comes up vs making clear decisions and planning," adding, "It is hard, but it becomes easy if you go with the flow. I always prefer being in the driver's seat, making my choices. So, basically that is why I'm into things that I feel I like and with great people that I like and talented as well, let it be in acting, wrestling, writing or directing, anything for the matter."

Talking about his recent tie-up with 'Impact Wrestling' and Lucha Underground's' current tie-up he revealed he hopes that in the future we will be able to see the 'WorldWide Underground Faction' also come to 'Impact'. "I hope so, Jack Evans and PJ Black (from Lucha Underground) are ridiculously talented and of course my beautiful wife Taya Valkyrie (Lucha Underground) is already at and clearly I love her because I married her. I love working with her at 'Impact'. But if PJ, Evans, and Taya are all at 'Impact' I will be really glad," he said.

Finally, when we asked about his favorite wrestling memory till date, Hennigan revealed that even though there is a lot in his list of favorites, the one that stands out till the day is 'Lucha Underground' season 4, episode 12, where he married Taya. "It was one of those moments where you cannot picture anything going better than this. PJ Black did a great job, Joey Ryan came out, Mariposa, and most of all Taya. it was so surreal and we were getting married in real life as well. So that moment is going to be special for me always," the Mondo Lucha Championship winner revealed.
