On Sunday, March 14, President Joe Biden finally spoke about the scandal in a question-answer session from the White House South Lawn after several Democrats joined the growing chorus of lawmakers who have demanded the governor's resignation following the seventh allegation of sexual misconduct.

Biden passed up the opportunity to join other Democrats calling for the resignation of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is under investigation after multiple allegations of sexual harassment. Asked by a reporter if Cuomo should resign, Biden responded, “I think the investigation is underway and we should see what it brings us.” POTUS, made the comments upon returning to the White House from a weekend at his home in Delaware, had not previously spoken publicly about the allegations against Cuomo.

On Friday, March 12, White House press secretary Jen Psaki didn't comment whether Biden believes Cuomo should resign or not. She stated that every woman who has come forward “deserves to have her voice heard, should be treated with respect and should be able to tell her story.” She has said in the past weeks that the president supports the investigation. Several prominent Democrats, including Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, have called on Cuomo to step down. The three-term governor has refused to resign and has denied he did what has been alleged. Till now, six women, have accused Cuomo of sexually harassing them, or for making inappropriate comments on them.

As soon as Biden's latest comments came to light, people started talking about it. One Internet user said: "Smart man. That’s exactly what you’re supposed to say not like the other people that are asking for his resignation without an investigation being completed." While another one said: "This right here is why Biden doesn't need to do a press briefing with the media. They're trying to keep the clown show going for ratings, clicks and money. One person tweeted: "I believe his answer should have been, every woman who comes up makes an allegation has to be heard, lets see where the investigation takes us. Anyway, the Biden administration must not take their eye off the ball. They must focus on the great rescue plan for now. Huge deal!" While another one said: "That was a proper response in the rest of the country including the media needs to follow suit. In America you are innocent until proven guilty allegations mean nothing unless substantiated."

Slamming the statement, another one said: "Oh, Dems want an investigation before casting judgement...interesting shift in philosophy for those bottom feeding cockroaches." While another one said: "In the meantime NY is without a Governor because we certainly cannot trust Andrew Cuomo."
