Joe Biden is 'mentally deteriorating' and nominating him will be a disaster, says dem strategist Justin Horwitz
"He is a candidate that is mentally deteriorating," Justin Horwitz said about presidential candidate Joe Biden during an appearance on 'Tucker Carlson Tonight'.
"People in the Democratic establishment say, 'Oh don't say that'. They really believe that they can shield Joe Biden from public scrutiny and the reality is, they can't," he said on the show.
The Democratic strategist and backer of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) also noted that it will be a "disaster" if the Democrat establishment's purported efforts to "shield" the former vice president prevail, leading to a head-to-head matchup with President Donald Trump.
The outspoken Sanders supporter added, "We all see what's going on here and it's going to be a disaster if we nominate Joe Biden."
Horwitz called him "a candidate in the decline" and confirmed that the Democrat establishment is "perfectly aware" of what is happening with Biden.
"We all see it. He can't get on stage without making some type of gaffe, and these aren't the same gaffes that he made in his previous two failed presidential runs," he said. "These gaffes are a lot more serious. These gaffes clearly indicate that he is not all there anymore."
He said that Biden's state will be highlighted in the coming debates when he goes against Sanders. Calling Sanders a "sharp debater," he predicted, "I think Bernie picks up steam and ends up winning the nomination because Biden simply can't debate," he said.
"They're trying to protect him from being in public. Well, unfortunately, when you run for president, you're going to be in public. People are going to see what's happening."
This is not the first time that Horwitz has remarked on Biden. During a February appearance on Breitbart News Saturday, he said it was "obvious" that Biden "is not all there anymore".
"He's clearly not as sharp. He’s struggling to find his words. He is a man who is mentally deteriorating, and I think that’s a reason [Mike] Bloomberg has jumped into the race," he he had said, describing the billionaire as a "fallback for the establishment in case Biden truly breaks down mentally."
