Will Biden-Harris make Adam Silver head of Covid-19 task force? Fans praise him for zero cases in NBA bubble

The Los Angeles Lakers are NBA champions now, after defeating the Miami Heat by 106-93 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Sunday, October 11, winning the best-of-seven series four games to two. Lots of people congratulated the Lakers for the big win, but it wasn't just the Lakers who were praised, as NBA Commissioner Adam Silver also received huge appreciation for following the Covid-19 guidelines for the entire season as no Covid-19 cases were reported in the bubble. In March, Silver took a swift action by shutting down the NBA season completely after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for Covid-19. 

Social media users congratulated Silver and even asked Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris to make him the head of the Biden's Covid-19 task force. Many fans congratulated Silver for a successful season with no Covid-19 positive cases, as one wrote, "73 days since the NBA restart. 0 positive COVID cases for players/coaches in the bubble. One of the most enjoyable Playoffs in recent memory. The NBA & Adam Silver deserve a lot of credit for this. Proud to work in this league." While another one wrote, "CONGRATS TO THE NBA CHAMPION- ADAM SILVER FOR PUTTING ON A TOURNMENT WITHOUT A SINGLE CASE OF COVID. SAFETY WAS THE REAL GOAL HERE- MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. THE ACTUAL WINNER IS INCONSEQUENCAL IF YOU LOOK AT THIS WITH THE CORRECET PERSPECTIVE."

And in no time, people brought in politics into the game as one netizen wrote, "God willing Biden/Harris win the election, they should name Adam Silver head of the coronavirus task force," and another one wrote, "Biden’s first order of business should be hiring Adam Silver to head up the COVID-19 response. It’s apparent he knows more than Pence and Ftrump."

While another one user, who found Silver "convincing" wrote, "Adam Silver should help run the virus task force under Biden. Anyone that can get a bunch of NBA players to buy in to containment & mitigation can convince the rest of the country to sacrifice." While some even said that Silver will run for the President and wrote, "8 years from now (after Biden’s 2 terms), I feel that Adam Silver could run for President and have a real shot."

And some slammed President Donald Trump and wrote, "Adam Silver handled Covid better than Trump has." One compared the White House with the NBA bubble and wrote, "Adam Silver and the NBA didn't have one positive COVID test in the bubble. Not one! They had strict, science-based protocol to prevent COVID spread. Now compare that with Trump's White House. SMH. Damn shame!"
