Joe Biden's dogs Champ and Major blamed for pooping in White House hallway, Internet says 'it's their house!'

'I can't believe that the news is reporting one of the Biden dogs pooing in the White House. Who cares? Dogs poo in their homes all the time and occasionally bite when they're scared,' one said

One of President Joe Biden’s German shepherds reportedly pooped on the floor of the White House on Wednesday, March 31. A reporter revealed that they noticed there was "dog poo" in the hallway outside the Diplomatic Reception Room after the dogs were spotted nearby. This comes just a day after it was first reported that three-year-old Major was caught up in a second biting incident at the executive mansion.

“As pool gathered to load in the vans on the South Lawn driveway, Champ and Major were spotted in the hallway outside the Palm Room doors in front of the Diplomatic Room,” the reporter said. "There was dog poo on the floor. It’s unclear which dog was responsible for it."

'LEAVE CHAMP AND MAJOR ALONE'

Following reports that one of the dogs was responsible for the mess at the White House, social media users were quick to step on the pups' behalf. “These dogs are both innocent. Must be a cat’s fault,” CBS White House reporter Kathryn Watson, who also shared the quote from the reporter, said.

"LEAVE CHAMP AND MAJOR ALONE," another user campaigned. Another user called them both 'good boys' and defended them by saying, "Humans did this inside the Capitol building and smeared it on walls. Let’s focus on finding the ones who did that and let’s leave Champ and Major alone. They are good boys." One said, "I hope Champ and Major shit in every room and hallway of the White House over the next 4 years. It's their house!" Another said, "Champ and Major pooped in the White House. So did Trump."

Many users pointed out just how mundane it is to report about pets pooping in their own house. "I can't believe that the news is reporting one of the Biden dogs pooing in the White House. Who cares? Dogs poo in their homes all the time and occasionally bite when they're scared or stressed. Major and Champ are very good boys. Leave them alone." Tweeting along similar lines, a user took a sarcastic approach saying, "I'm shocked.....shocked I tell you... to know that Champ and Major are behaving like *checks notes*.....DOGS. the nerve of them ...acting like animals."

At the same time, is this really the most important news? "Champ and Major never smeared poop all over the walls of the Capitol Building in the middle of a deadly insurrection inspired & incited by Donald Trump," one tweeted. Another added, "Champ and Major may have accidents in the West Wing but let’s not forget that adult human being insurrectionists smeared their own shit all over the halls of the Capitol building."

One said, "Oh my paw! Someone’s out to destroy our repawtation! First snitching about the nippings, now the doo doo pawccident. At least we’re in good company: “President Barack Obama’s dog Sunny liked to sneak off and poop in the mansion.” Awooof!"

Biting incidents

The latest pooping controversy comes shortly after it was revealed that Biden’s younger dog Major was involved in his second biting incident of the month. According to latest reports that detail the incident, the dog "nipped someone while on a walk" on Monday, press secretary to first lady Jill Biden, Michael LaRosa said, adding the pup "is still adjusting to his new surroundings".

The three-year-old rescue dog and his sibling, Champ, returned to the White House last week after being banished for causing a minor injury to an employee of the US Secret Service on March 8. After this first biting incident, Biden said that "85 per cent of the people" at the White House "love him". "Major was a rescue pup. Major did not bite someone and penetrate the skin. The dog’s being trained now with our trainer at home in Delaware," Biden had said.
