President Donald Trump shocked the nation post-Election Day, early Wednesday morning on November 4, by falsely claiming victory in the presidential polls despite millions of votes yet to be counted. In his speech addressing the nation, the POTUS threatened to take matters to the US Supreme Court to stop "all voting" so that he could start celebrating a second term.

Responding to Trump's address, the campaign manager of Democratic nominee Joe Biden released a statement strongly clapping back at the president’s comments. Jen O'Malley Dillon, Biden's campaign manager called Trump's remarks “outrageous, unprecedented, and incorrect."

"The president's statement tonight about trying to shut down the counting of duly cast ballots was outrageous, unprecedented, and incorrect. It was outragrous because it is a naked effort to take away the democratic rights of American citizens. It was unprecedented because never before in our history has a president of the United States sought to strip Americans of their voice in a national election. Having encouraged Republican efforts in multiple states to prevent the legal counting of these ballots before Election Day, now Donald Trump is saying these ballots can't be counted after Election Day either."

The statement added: "And it was incorrect because it will not happen. The counting will not stop. It will continue until until every duly cast vote is counted. Because that is what our laws – the laws that protect every Americans' contitutional right to vote – require." The statement then went onto echo a tweet that Biden had sent earlier in the night before Trump held the press conference. "We repeat what the Vice President said tonight: Donald Trump does not decide the outcome of this election. The American people decide the outcome of this election. And the democratic process must and will continue until its conclusion."

Biden's campaign additionally said that if Trump made good on his threat to move to the SCOTUS to end the counting of the votes and prematurely declare victory "we have legal teams standing by ready to deploy to resist that effort. And they will prevail."

The ex-VP's tweet earlier in the night read, "It's not my place or Donald Trump's place to declare the winner of this election. It's the voters' place."

The statement from the Biden campiagn received a flurry of reactions from the public, most of whom were already paniced by the president's claim to stop the counting of the votes. "This would be a good time for ALL former Presidents to speak up," one wrote, while another said, "I was shocked and disappointed to hear people cheering him on as he claimed victory and flung out lies like they were rolls of paper towels after a hurricane." A third remarked, "Eyes on GA, Kemp and SoS, in the morning. There’s still no total est votes in major counties. #CountAllTheVotes" Someone else said, "Trump is a disgrace, win or lose, still a disgrace!"

In his his remarks from the White House,Trump attacked legitimate vote-counting efforts, saying: "Millions and millions of people voted for us. A very sad group of people is trying to disenfranchise that group of people." Trump insisted that the states where vote tallies currently show him leading should be called in his favor despite significant votes yet to be counted. "We were getting ready for a big celebration. We were winning everything. And all of a sudden it was just called off," he said, and claimed fraud without any evidence. "This is a fraud on the American public. This is an embarrassment to our country," Trump claimed. "Frankly we did win this election," he said.

He added: "We'll be going to the US Supreme Court. We want all voting to stop. We don't want them to find any ballots at 4 in the morning and add them to the list... as far as I'm concerned, we've already won."
