JK Rowling's statement left people angry and many accused the writer of being transphobic. People were quick to get on social media and drag the 'Harry Potter' writer down for her comments that reflected her views about trans people.

Rowling had shared an article that focused on "Opinion: Creating a more equal post-Covid-19 world for people who menstruate". While tweeting that she wrote, "‘People who menstruate.' I'm sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?" She added, "If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn't hate to speak the truth." Hearing this comments people were shocked that their beloved 'Harry Potter' writer had such views.

While some were busy calling her out for her words, others were worried about how their favorite book had now turned into a nightmare due to the comments made by the writer. Some even pointed out that Hermoine Granger, played by Emma Watson, would be against such comments too. Meanwhile, others brought attention to how Rick Riordan, who is famous four his 'Percy Jackson' books, has never disappointed his fans. They shared his old tweets where he had supported the black community while also speaking about social issues. "Let's talk about how half the characters in the Percy Jackson series are canonically gay, non-binary or otherwise LGBTQ+ and Rick Riordan always speaks on social issues," read one comment.

Another added, "Jk rowling: terf, billionaire, white liberal, wrote s****y wizard books for nerds Rick Riordan: feminist, trans rights advocate, wrote sick greek/roman/Egyptian/nordic mythology books for cool people." Looking at how people were quick to turn against Rowling, some wondered what it meant for the fate of 'Fantastic Beasts'. After the 'Harry Potter' series, Rowling had entered into the world of fiction yet again through her 'Fantastic Beasts' series but people are wondering if it would come to an end due to her recent remarks.

"This sucks you guys how are we going to continue to enjoy the rollicking thrills and memorable characters of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series now," read one comment. "Only tangentially related, but JK Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindlewald scripts is one of the worst of all time. Truly beyond dogs**t from top to bottom. Maybe spend more time working on that and less time being a hateful imbecile," another wrote. "All that disappointment y'all are feeling in Jo? Yeah, could y'all channel that disappointment into not seeing the next Fantastic Beasts when it comes out? Because she's still getting cash from that," wrote another.
