J.J. Abrams' highly anticipated movie at Warner Bros. has just received a major update. Starring Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega, the film is now titled, The Great Beyond.' The reports came from a new Writers Guild of America listing that confirmed the movie's title and categorized it as an action-adventure.

Previously, the Powell-starrer had the working title of 'Ghostwriter'. While the movie's plot has tightly kept underwraps, the cast was revealed with 'Barbie' star Emma Mackey and Samuel L. Jackson in key roles. This comes on the back of the film's production across different countries. The large-scale world-building was done in Glasgow, London, and Edinburgh, with the locations being transformed to resemble a futuristic city. Filming also took place in Providence, Rhode Island.

As for Powell, he has a string of projects lined up after he inked on a firefighter film with Ron Howard. He also stars in a comedy movie for Judd Apatow and a sci-fi film for Barry Jenkins. Up next, he wil be seen in 'How to Make a Killing' set to release in February.

The official synopsis reads: "When she passes away, impoverished and alone, Becket decides to make good on her belief that he is destined for greatness, no matter how evil he might need to be to achieve it. Ruthlessly determined to get back what Mary always said was stolen from him, Becket hatches a murderous scheme to eliminate the seven Redfellow relatives who stand between him and his inheritance."

"Can money buy happiness? As the heirs fall one by one, in a series of deliciously imaginative accidents, Becket is pretty sure it can. But he must also navigate his relationship with his loving girlfriend, Ruth, for whom money means nothing, and the increasing attentions of Julia, a flirtatious old flame from the past, for whom it most definitely does."

"There’s going to be a new title that we will probably be debuting here in the next few weeks," Powell told the outlet. "But the movie is fantastic, and John Patton Ford is a great filmmaker. I can’t wait for people to see it." The cast also includes Ed Harris, Jessica Henwick, Zach Woods, Topher Grace, Margaret Qualley, and Raff Law.
