LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel didn't hold back when discussing former President Donald Trump's recent legal tactics.

Using his characteristic humor and wit, Kimmel addressed the former president's attempts to postpone his trial related to the events of January 6, 2021, until after the 2024 elections.

Jimmy Kimmel dubs Donald Trump's legal strategies as 'delay-hole'

During his monologue, Jimmy Kimmel began by saying, "The ketchup on the walls is closing in," referring to a peculiar incident involving Donald Trump. Reportedly, after his loss in the 2020 presidential election, Trump threw his food in anger, resulting in ketchup cascading down a White House wall.

Kimmel wasted no time in highlighting Trump's latest legal maneuver, noting that the former president is not only seeking to delay one trial but is trying to postpone all his legal proceedings, humorously coining the term "delay-hole" to describe the move.

On the Tuesday, November 7, episode the host also revived his humorous prediction of a potential prison term for Trump, referring to him as a "future incarceree."

In his characteristic comedic style, Kimmel quipped, "When did this whole country turn into a deadbeat dad?" He then added, "Speaking of deadbeat dads, Donald Trump was not in court today for once. His daughter Ivanka is in court tomorrow."

Donald Trump's recent legal maneuvers

Donald Trump's legal team filed a motion requesting the removal of inflammatory remarks from the indictment, particularly those that suggest his responsibility for the violence that occurred at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

In response, the special counsel quickly filed a court document emphasizing that Trump's alleged crimes make him stand alone in American history. They pointed out that no other president has been accused of engaging in conspiracy and obstruction to overturn valid election results.

Trump's legal challenges extend to multiple cases, with his attorneys asking to delay proceedings in his federal election interference case, citing immunity grounds as the reason.

Interestingly, this request coincided with US District Judge Aileen Cannon considering a schedule extension motion filed by Trump's lawyers in connection to the classified documents case.

As Kimmel concluded his humorous take on the situation, he shared that special counsel Jack Smith's team had informed Judge Cannon of Trump's motion to stay in the January 6 case.

This served to highlight Trump's overarching goal to delay both trials at any cost, according to the special counsel.

In this ongoing legal saga, the former POTUS has pleaded not guilty to various criminal counts related to his handling of classified materials and charges of engaging in a "criminal scheme" to overturn the 2020 election results.

His legal team has asserted that he enjoys "absolute immunity" from prosecution for actions taken during his presidency. The special counsel's office has firmly contended that Trump is not above the law and is subject to federal criminal prosecution like any other citizen.

Internet reacts as Jimmy Kimmel mocks Donald Trump's attempt to delay his trials

Soon after Jimmy Kimmel's monologue was uploaded to YouTube, viewers started to comment with their own perspectives regarding Donald Trump's legal moves.

One quipped, "They should hold the trial on January 6th... y'know...just for the fun of it. Like rubbing the ex-"president's" nose in it!"

Another stated, "Let's let him push it till 5 years later  judicial system at its best!"

A user added, "Don’t delay! Speed up the accountability," while one person praised the host, saying, "Jimmy Kimmel is the best late night host on right now! Thank you jimmy!"
