Al Pacino is basking in his Academy Award nomination for 'The Irishman'. This is the ninth nomination of his storied career. He should very well be savoring the moment since it is his first Oscar nomination since his 1993 win for Best Actor in 'Scent of a Woman'. You'd think 1993 would have been a memorable year for him but it turns out the actor has some interesting memories from attending the Oscars way back in 1975.

Appearing on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', the 79-year-old actor recalled the Oscars of 1975 and the actor confessed that he was high on a few things which made it impossible for him to sit through the award show.

"I was sitting there and it wasn’t at all like you’d expect," he said. 'I went and I was sat there in this big event and I was with a friend. I had a few things, you know. I was not completely myself." Pacino admitted that he thought that the show was only for an hour but revealed he had started to enjoy the show once he started to calm down.

"So everything was tolerable, you know? The nerves had calmed down. I was sitting there enjoying the show. I turned to Jeff Bridges — he was also nominated — and I said hi," he added. "I didn’t know him, but I knew he was Jeff Bridges, but I never met him. He said: "Yes? Hi. OK" I thought, "He hasn’t seen my films"

Later, Pacino revealed that the 'Big Lebowski' actor gave him a look that he would never forget. "But I said to him: "I don’t think they’re going to get to the best actor category. It’s an hour and they didn’t get to that category,"' he explained. ’He gave me a look to this day — I’ll never forget it — like, "Where do you come from, who are you?" and said, "It’s three hours," he revealed.

Hearing this Pacino felt like he was going to "collapse" because he added that he could not understand how he would sit through the next two hours. At the 1975 awards, Pacino was on his third nomination, for 'Godfather II', after being nominated for 'The Godfather' and 'Serpico' in the years before that, while Bridges was nominated that year for 'Thunderbolt' and 'Lightfoot'.

Pacino also commented on his role in 'The Irishman'. Kimmel asked him if he felt strange to be portrayed 40 years younger. He confessed it wasn't strange as one gets used to it after some time. He also told the audience to look out for the television series 'Hunters' since he's pretty excited to be part of it.
