Jimmy Kimmel calls Trump's sons 'Stinklevoss twins' as Eric and Donald Jr appear in court for $250M civil fraud trial
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: On November 2, 2023, Donald Trump's $250 million civil fraud trial entered its one-month mark in New York City.
While the former president was not present in court, his two eldest sons and co-defendants Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump appeared before the New York State Supreme Court.

Both provided testimonies on financial statement discrepancies that have been uncovered within the Trump Organization.
During their respective testimonies, they discussed their knowledge, or lack thereof, regarding these irregularities and provided insight into potential sources of their origin.
Eric Trump made his big debut on the stand and his sworn testimony about his knowledge of some of his father's financial dealings appeared to directly contradict previous statements he had made about the Trump Organization.
Jimmy Kimmel tears into Trump's sons
Jimmy Kimmel, host of ABC’s late-night talk show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ spared a thought for the Trump siblings in his monologue.
“I haven’t seen a more likable set of brothers on trial since the Menendez boys,” said the host, and even dubbed the siblings “the Stinklevoss Twins.”
Kimmel said about Eric, “Things got off to a slow start when they asked Eric to raise his right hand."
“He couldn’t figure it out for the life of him, and he tried,” he quipped.

During Eric's testimony, he was asked a series of questions by lawyers. However, Eric's responses seemed to lack clarity and specificity, as he repeatedly replied with "I can't remember."
This pattern of evasive answers was strikingly similar to his brother Don Jr's testimony. Despite the lawyers' attempts to elicit more details from Eric, he was unable to provide any substantial information.
“Eric repeatedly said: ‘I don’t focus on the financial side of things… I pour concrete.’ He said that several times. He said, ‘I’m not a money guy, I’m a construction guy.’ He’s a construction guy like the guy in the Village People’s a construction guy. He owns a yellow hat,” Kimmel joked.

Donald Trump Jr was subject to both scrutiny and ridicule when he disavowed responsibility for the accuracy of the statements he signed, asserting that the information contained within them was true. Nevertheless, Jimmy Kimmel found it amusing that the former President decided not to appear in court.
“Really, Donald Trump not showing up to watch his kids testify in a fraud trial is the Trump family version of not showing up for their school play,” said Kimmel.
Eric is scheduled to testify on Friday, and it is anticipated that his father will provide testimony in his own defense before Ivanka Trump is sworn in on Monday.

The trial and Kimmel's scathing commentary have elicited several funny comments on X.
One user noted on the fit donned by the two siblings in court: “Donald Sr. wasn’t there because he was too exhausted after shopping all day for Junior’s and Eric’s matching going to court clothes.”
