Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are terrified that youngest children will watch their older siblings’ allegations in 'Shiny Happy People'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jim Bob Duggar and his wife, Michelle, are trying their best to make sure that the youngest of their 19 children don't get to see the explosive docuseries, 'Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets', based upon them and the Institute of Basic Life Principles.
According to InTouch, an insider said that Duggar and Michelle "don't want" the youngest members of their family to see the controversial documentary, but it "might be impossible" to keep them away from it forever.
'There's no way around it'
"There's no way around it," the insider said, adding, "You can stick your head in the sand, but it's all anyone is talking about. Some refuse to watch it, while others watch it in secret." Duggar, 57, and Michelle, 56, are still raising four underage children, Johannah, 17, Jennifer, 15, Jordyn-Grace, 14, and Josie, 13. In 2018, the four girls released an album titled 'Happy Hearts'. It also featured their niece, Mackynzie Renee, 13, who is the daughter of their disgraced older brother, Josh, and his wife, Anna.
The insider said that "their family dynamic is literally collapsing." Duggar and Michelle released a statement on The Duggar Family website just before the release of the docuseries on Amazon Prime Video on June 2.
Duggar and Michelle said that the docuseries "paints so much and so many in a derogatory and sensationalized way because sadly that's the direction of entertainment these days." "We have always believed that the best chance to repair damaged relationships, or to reconcile differences is through love in a private setting. We love each member of our family and will continue to do all we can to have a good relationship with each one," they said in a statement.
Jill, 32, who is the fourth out of their 19 children, was the only one who agreed to be interviewed by the docuseries' creators. She appeared in the documentary alongside her husband Derick Dillard, 34. Duggar's elder sister, Deanna, 61, and his niece, Amy Duggar King, 36, also featured in the series.
What did Jill Duggar reveal?
Jill stated that she and her siblings never got to see any profits from the original '19 Kids and Counting', adding that she did not want the birth of her first child with Dillard to be aired on TV.
