Good was taken to Charlotte County Jail on a $150,000 bond, which she posted on Monday, May 17. She is due to be arraigned on June 21. Here's everything we know about Good and the shocking incident that led to her arrest.
Who is Jessica Rae Good?
According to media reports, Good is originally from Punta Gorda, in Charlotte County. Not much is known about Good, but she doesn't appear to have any previous criminal records. We couldn't find any Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram profiles in Good's name. According to the police statement, Good was arrested outside her place of work on May 11, but we could not verify where that is. It is unclear if Good has been fired at the moment or if she is still employed.
All we do know about her is related to the rape on which she has been arrested. According to reports, Good had been out drinking with a friend. She then gatecrashed a birthday party on May 9 and began making "extremely inappropriate sexual comments". She also provided one of the children, a 17-year-old, with alcohol. She then forced herself on the 17-year-old. As he was being raped, a 12-year-old who was sleeping nearby was woken up by the noise. The boy told the police that he attempted to push Good off, but was unable to do so due to her weight.
The 12-year-old girl told cops that at some point, the boy went to the bathroom, vomited and came back to continue having sex with Good. Once they were done, she collected her things and left. The 17-year-old later confided in a staff member about the incident at school. According to the arrest reports, Good told investigators that she “turned black” and claimed not to remember the incident.
In Florida, it is illegal for an adult (someone 18 or older) to have sex with a minor (someone younger than 18), even if the sex is consensual (certain exemptions exist). According to NBC 2, conditions of Good's release include that she not be near any minors, except at work, where she will be supervised at all times. The outlet reported that she works with children, but did not provide more details. It is unclear if Good has retained an attorney to speak on her behalf at the moment.
