Who is Jesse Huy? Missouri man, 50, shoots wife and her parents to death, calls 911 to report horrific crime
STRAFFORD, MISSOURI: A 50-year-old Strafford man faces three counts of first-degree murder in connection to the shooting deaths of three people. The shooting happened on Saturday, March 20 evening inside the home of the suspect, Jesse Huy.
Huy has been charged in Greene County related to the deaths of his wife, 48-year-old Tonya Huy and his in-laws, 71-year-old Ronald Koehler and 78-year-old Linda Koehler, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Huy's home is located near Strafford, about 14 miles northeast of Springfield. The Greene County Sheriff's Department said Huy called the department and reported the killings.

The three individuals were found at Huy’s home at 4486 North Farm Road 249, according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department. Huy reported to police that he had killed his family members, the sheriff’s department said in a Facebook post. Greene County Sherrif's Office posted on Facebook: "At 6:37 PM Greene County deputies were dispatched to 4486 North Farm Rd. 249. A man called 911 and reported that he had just murdered three family members inside his home. Deputies arrived and took the man into custody without incident and confirmed the presence of three deceased adults. Greene County detectives are responding to conduct the investigation which is in its very early stages. Additional information will be released when it becomes available." He is being held without bond.
The reason behind the killing is not revealed.
According to a report by The Conversation: "In the case of familicides, research shows they are almost exclusively committed by men in heterosexual family relationships.A history of domestic violence is a key risk factor. Individual familicide studies show varying rates, but a recent review of existing studies found a history of domestic violence was identified in 39% to 92% of cases."
