'Jersey Shore's' Ronnie Ortiz-Magro’s lawyer says reports of his client chasing girlfriend Jen Harley with knife based on speculation
'Jersey Shore' star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro was arrested on October 4 on charges of domestic violence. He was also charged with kidnapping. However, the reality star was released from jail after posting a $100,000 bail, as reported by US Weekly. “The reporting of the alleged incident relating to Ronnie Magro yesterday is based on pure speculation and innuendo”, lawyer Scott E. Leemon told the outlet. “We are currently conducting our own investigation and will have no further comment until that has been concluded.”
It has been reported that the pair, who have been in an on and off relationship for a long time, got into a physical fight before the incident. “Officers responded to a battery in progress in the 7200 blocks of Woodrow Wilson Drive at 2:40 a.m.”, the Los Angeles Police Department’s public information officer told the outlet.
The officer noted that Magro did not cooperate with the police despite their continuous warnings. "Suspect and victim were involved in some kind of physical altercation. When officers [were] on location, the suspect was uncooperative. Officers had to use a taser so there was minor use of force that occurred", he noted.
However, the police assured that their18-month-old daughter Ariana was unharmed during the incident. Meanwhile, TMZ noted that the pair were staying at an Airbnb when the fight between them started. Margo reportedly hit her and ran after her with a knife.
According to LAPD, the audiotape which they received had Harley stating that someone had taken their daughter.
Just a day before Magro's arrest the pair had attended CBD launch party of VERGE in West Hollywood. Speaking to the outlet during the even, the 'Jersey Shore' star noted that Harley helped him in various ways.
“Honestly, even though everyone thinks we’re toxic, she really does balance me out”, he said. “She really does keep me level because with her I have her and the baby, which is a family, which is what I want at the end of the day.”
