Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino and his wife Lauren revealed on Monday that they had suffered a miscarriage when she was seven weeks pregnant.

The couple had announced the devastating news on 'Strahan, Sara, and Keke' and had revealed that the couple had conceived on the night that 37-year-old Mike had been released from federal prison. "The night he came home [from prison] we actually conceived. And then at about six and a half, seven weeks, I miscarried. It was heart-wrenching," Lauren shared.

She spoke about how when she first got pregnant, she believed that things were finally falling into place and the couple was starting a new chapter. "When I found out we were pregnant, I felt like this is why we went through all these challenges for years and that this was our time and it was our blessing. … It was hard. It was really difficult," she added.

She also shared that she had decided to be open about the miscarriage in the hopes of helping anyone who was going through the same thing. As she spoke of the miscarriage, Mike could be seen getting very emotional.

“I didn’t want to hold this in,” Lauren added. “I wanted to share it for other people going through it and just be honest so I can kind of heal through the process.”

The college sweethearts had got married in November last year before the 'Jersey Shore' star had to serve out an eight-month prison sentence for evading taxes. Mike was released in September when the couple conceived. After the couple had got married, Mike spoke to US Weekly and shared that he and Lauren were trying to conceive.

At the time, he said, "We’ve been working on it the past week, so we’ll see. We would love a boy first. We’re excited for little Situations!" Lauren also added that the couple loves chaos and wants a busy home. " I think we would definitely want at least three, but we have none right now, so that’s pretty ambitious," she had shared.
