'Jersey Shore' Ronnie Ortiz-Magro reveals the change in his life after he welcomed his daughter
Jersey Shore star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and his girlfriend Jen Harley welcomed their daughter on April 3 and ever since then his life has changed. Talking to US Weekly, the reality star revealed that the pair has decided to keep their daughter's name as Ariana Sky.
Ronnie revealed that the pair had been talking about a possible name for their baby ever since they started dating. “When we first started dating in the beginning, we’d joke around saying, ‘What if we had a kid? It’d be crazy and good looking!’ And we’d say ‘What would we name it?’ We joked that we liked Ariana,” he said.
“When she found out she was pregnant, we looked at each other and we’re like, ‘Guess we’re naming the baby Ariana if it’s a girl.’ Next thing you know, we find out the gender and we’re like, ‘Guess so!’”
As for the middle name, the two had differences but came to a mutual ground and settled for a perfect name for their adorable daughter. Ronnie recalled that Jen wanted 'Sky' to be her name but after talking they decided to settle on keeping it as her middle name. In fact, the pair has been teaming up in order to make sure that their daughter is happy.
“We figure it’s like a job and you have shifts as a job,” he said. “I’m an early bird! I like to go to bed early, wake up early. I go to bed around 11 and wake up at, like, 3. Then she’ll sleep until 9. I’ll watch the baby through then, then I’ll go about my day – whether it’s gym, tan or laundry. Then when I get back, she’ll handle her errands. We take turns. We’re a tag team – I tag her in, she tags me out.”
He added that his "whole mindset" has been changed ever since he has become a father. "Things that were important to you just aren’t important anymore," he confessed. "Your mindset is taking care of your family and being a good role model and basically, just, you never want to see anything happen to them. “She gets the hiccups and I go crazy because it’s out of my hands. She’ll get them for 5-10 minutes, I’m like ‘Oh my gosh! I just want to stop them!’ So I try to scare her, I’m like ‘Boo!’ and Jen’s like, ‘Uh, that doesn’t work on babies.’ I’m like ‘Oh, that makes sense.’”
He admitted that he now understands why his Jersey Shore co-stars “JWoww” Farley and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi were emotional on the set. Now, I can relate,” he said. “This is the first time I’ve been gone in 13 days. I wanna be on the next flight out of here, to get back there … Luckily, Jen is very understanding; she understands that I live a certain lifestyle that involves me traveling but she knows I love her and the baby at the end of the day.”
