GRAFTON COUNTY, NEW HAMPSHIRE: A New Hampshire legislator was taken into custody on Friday, March 10, 2023, after he allegedly screamed and swore at a snowplow truck driver. The confrontation with Jeffrey Greeson was recorded by the truck operator Paul Manson who then reported him to authorities. 

The Republican lawmaker of Wentworth has been charged with simple assault, criminal threatening, and disorderly conduct. On personal recognizance, the 51-year-old was released and has been ordered to return to Plymouth District Court on May 18. The arrest was made after police received a report that a Wentworth Highway Department member's efforts to remove the snow were obstructed by a citizen and part of the confrontation has been recorded on his cell phone, reported New York Post.

Who is Jeffrey Greeson?

A pastor who is serving his second term in the House, Greeson is a retired Navy officer. At around 8.00 am on Thursday, Greenson stood in the middle of the road where the Wentworth road agent Manson was already plowing. "He just started giving me hell, and I didn’t know what was going on. When I got out of the truck, he started screaming in my face. So I got back in the truck and got my phone", said Manson.

'Get in your truck and do your job!'

The video showed Greeson screaming while standing in the pile of snow after the foot of snow was dropped by the storm. Using rude hand gestures, Greeson shouted saying, "Here’s where my driveway ends, right here. Push it out of the road! Your job is to clear the road. Clear the road! Now, get in your truck and do your job!"

Manson said that Greeson was "upset because I wasn’t pushing the snow off the road far enough, and I was putting it all in his driveway, which I’m going, to be honest with you, that’s what I do. My job is to get the snow off the road. And I feel bad most of the time because I do put snow back in people’s driveway, and I really can’t help it," according to New York Post. The snowplow driver that his job is not an easy one and shared that public servants like him do not deserve to be attacked. "I get to go home when I’m done with my 15-, 16-, 18-hour shifts and do the same thing," he said.
