A rape survivor, allegedly assaulted by late financier Jeffrey Epstein, has said that she believes the pedophile was abusing girls right up until he was imprisoned last year and till he died there. The survivor, a former model, claimed that the recent assaults will leave a "second wave" of younger victims too afraid and ashamed to tell their parents about what happened to them.

The woman, 22, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Daily Mail that she was raped and molested by Epstein's during two visits to the financier's mansion in New York in 2015. "I believe he was abusing young girls right up until the day he was arrested," she said. "There are likely to be multiple young victims out there who are still in their teens, perhaps still living with their parents and too ashamed and confused to speak out."

"I know how it feels because I was one of them. I thought about suicide, I tried to cut my wrists. These girls need support before it's too late," she added. "They need to know it's OK to tell their stories."

Epstein was arrested by federal agents on July 6 last year in New Jersey after his return from a Paris trip and was charged with child sex trafficking in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1591. He is suspected of sex trafficking minors in Florida and New York. The financier, weeks later, allegedly hanged himself at the Manhattan Correctional Center early morning on August 10, despite being intermittently put on suicide watch. Epstein's close friend Ghislaine Maxwell is also believed to be associated with the decades of horror the financier inflicted on his young victims and was arrested last month.

The former model, who is believed to be the youngest woman to come forward, reportedly contacted the police and FBI after Epstein's arrest in July last month. The woman, in the autumn of 2014, was an aspiring 16-year-old model when she met an older woman named Madison in a bar. Madison reportedly introduced the then-teen to Epstein, claiming he could assist her in getting into the fashion industry. She recalled going to Epstein's Upper East Side home and seeing older men and very young women in a lounge area. She reportedly also saw a six-foot portrait of a woman, she now recognizes as his alleged Madame, Maxwell.

The survivor stated that when Epstein brought her into a dimly-lit room, he began fondling her, saying it was normal for young models to do "favors" for older men in the fashion industry. She claimed that she was later raped by Epstein, who also took her virginity.

Meanwhile, Maxwell, last week, pleaded not guilty to charges alleging that she recruited three girls, one aged 14, in the 1990s for Epstein to sexually abuse. The charges against the 58-year-old include conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, enticement of a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and two counts of perjury.
