LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: A total of two photos of the suspect, wanted in connection with the murder of investigative journalist Jeff German, 69, have been released by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on Monday, September 5. The photos show the person walking dressed in an orange, long-sleeved construction attire, along with a big, wide sun hat, hiding the face of the individual, and a dark gym bag over his shoulder.

German, one of Nevada’s most accomplished journalists who worked for the Las Vegas Journal-Review, was found dead with stab wounds outside his home on Saturday morning, September 3, at 10.30 am after an altercation with the suspect. According to Capt Dori Koren from Metropolitan Police Department, police responded to the 7200 block of Bronze Circle, near North Tenaya Way, after a neighbor called 911 saying German’s body was found on the side of his home, as per Las Vegas Journal-Review. Koren further said, "We do have some leads. We are pursuing a suspect but the suspect is outstanding." Following the release of the photos on September 5, police said in a statement, as quoted by Independent, "At this time, it appears the suspect was potentially casing the area to commit other crimes before the homicide occurred."

Commenting on the photos, Koren said, "We take this case very seriously and our investigators have been working non-stop to identify and apprehend the suspect. We enacted our Major Case Protocol immediately following our initial response and are using all LVMPD resources to maximize the progress of this investigation.”

The Las Vegas Police Department earlier told, "LVMPD enacted its major case protocol Saturday in the homicide investigation. This brings together a variety of resources to maximize the investigative effort and apply a sense of urgency to the apprehension of the suspect." Jeff German, the 'gold standard of news business'

Following the news of German's death, who was also the author of 'Murder in Sin City: The Death of a Las Vegas Casino Boss,' a 2001 true-crime book about the death of Ted Binion, the heir of the Horseshoe Club Fortune, Executive Editor Glenn Cook of The Review-Journal said that the organization is "devastated to lose Jeff." "He was the gold standard of the news business. It’s hard to imagine what Las Vegas would be like today without his many years of shining a bright light on dark places," he said, as per Fox News.
