Jason L Carey: Missouri school teacher, 42, arrested for sexually assaulting 8-year-old girl

BELTON, MISSOURI: A 42-year-old Belton substitute teacher who was already under investigation for allegedly sending nude photos of himself to several eighth-grade students, was taken into custody on Wednesday, September 21, and is now behind bars for allegedly molesting an 8-year-old girl last month. According to the records obtained by Law & Crime, Jason L Carey was charged with one count each of felony enticement or attempted enticement of a child, felony second-degree child molestation, and two counts of misdemeanor furnishing pornographic material or attempting to furnish pornographic material to a minor.
The 8-year-old victim, identified as “Confidential Victim #3” in the court documents, as per the reports obtained by the Kansas City Star, told the police that she went to the home of her 10-year-old friend for a sleepover in Belton in August. The victim knew Carey as he worked at “her old school” and was reportedly renting a room from a parent of the 10-year-old. The outlet reported the 8-year-old girl told the investigators that Carey “molested her and then forced her to watch pornographic videos, including one that featured a girl ‘probably her age,'” while she was at the home. Besides, the Belton teacher also told the girl “not to tell anybody” about the videos he showed her.

Carey also joined her and her other friend when they went swimming in the pool at the house. “During one of the times, she described the defendant grabbed and started rubbing her private part,” the charging document reportedly states. During the week of September 12, Carey allegedly sent inappropriate sexual messages to a student whom he met while substitute teaching at Belton Middle School. Belton is a suburb to the south of Kansas City.
The student told investigators that Carey had been the substitute teacher for one of her classes, The North Cass Herald reported. The student said that at one point during the day she asked Carey “How is your day?”, to which he replied, “Better since I’ve seen you now.” The student, identified as “Confidential Victim #1,” in the court documents, said she thought Casey was 'cool' and even asked for his Snapchat name. She reportedly added him as a friend after he gave her his name on the app. Carey seemingly began to send her normal text messages later day but it later started to get 'weird' by Friday evening. Casey allegedly sent at least two explicit messages to her friend that night. “I don’t know if I should be telling you, but your body is beautiful,” Carey allegedly wrote in one. “If you were here, I would be hugging you,” he allegedly wrote in the other.
He even wrote to the girl saying that he dreamt of her swimming in a pool and reportedly told her that it was his fantasy to “f**k her” in graphic detail. Another minor girl who is identified as “Confidential Victim #2,”, told the investigators that she added Casey as a friend on her Snapchat just like the other victim on Friday, September 16. She also began to receive the same type of inappropriate messages from the substitute teacher that evening including one in which he reportedly asked “if she was alone and if her parents ever let her leave the house."
Carey also allegedly communicated with a group of Belton Middle School girls who were having a sleepover on the night of September 16. In those messages, he allegedly told one of the girls he wanted to “come play” and also sent four videos of himself masturbating, including one that reportedly “clearly” showed his face as well as his easily identifiable shoulder tattoo.
However, he denied sending his videos to the minors when brought for questioning. He claimed that he was drinking a lot on September 17 and was having conversations with people on Snapchat. “The defendant stated he did not take any explicit photos or videos that night but did have explicit photos and videos that were stored on his phone,” a police affidavit reportedly states. “The defendant could not provide an explanation for the videos or photos that were recovered from the victims’ phones besides that he was intoxicated. The defendant explained the only night there would have been any conversations would have been Saturday night.”
He also denied the allegations of inappropriately touching the 8-year-old minor or showing her adult videos on the phone and professed that he only sometimes allowed her to use his phone to play games. Carey, however, admitted to deactivating his social media account on Monday, September 19, and deleting multiple sexually explicit photos. He is currently detained at the Cass County Jail. and was scheduled to appear before Judge Michal Rumley on Monday, September 26, for an arraignment.
