LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After a long gap, there is news regarding the update on the world of 'Tron'. It has been a decade since the release of 'Tron: Legacy'. New reports suggest that Disney is finally shedding some light on the works for a sequel with Joachim Ronning in talks to helm the project and Jared Leto to feature as a lead. This project will be the new sequel to the world of 'Tron' making it the third feature of the franchise, following 'Tron' which was released in 1982 and 'Tron: Legacy' which was released in 2010.

This won't be the first Disney collaboration with Ronning. He has already worked with the studio on projects including 'The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales', which he co-directed with Espen Sandberg), 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil' and the upcoming project 'Young Woman and the Sea' making this 'Tron' project his fourth addition to the list. Leto is finally seen on the screens with his infamous 'Morbius' film. If the project is confirmed, this would be the first collaboration between Ronning and Leto.

Despite the studio's multiple efforts to make this movie happen, the sequel hasn't yet taken off. According to Collider, the new 'Tron' film would be titled 'Tron: Ares' and Ronning is in the talks about directing the film. This film is expected to take off in August this year and the filming location would be in Vancouver, Canada. Apart from playing the lead role in the film, Leto is also expected to take part in the production side of the film serving as an executive producer, alongside Justin Springer, Jeffrey Silver, and Emma Ludbrook, with Sean Bailey and Sam Dickerman. The script of this movie is written by the writer Jesse Wigutow.

'Tron' films are of the science fiction action genre that has a heavy influence on virtual reality and technology plays a crucial role in the plot of the story. The recent 'Tron: Legacy' film followed Sam, the son of a disappeared virtual world designer, who gets entangled in the virtual world that his father created. The movie received praise for the visuals and might even gain an oscar nomination for its 'Best Achievement in Sound Editing'.
