When NBC announced that Jane Lynch would be the new hostess of the popular game show 'The Weakest Link', fans were skeptical about how anybody could replace the longtime iconic hostess of the show – Anne Robinson. But it took Lynch no time to win over fans with her witty and sassy remarks. Lynch's poker straight face as she roasted the contestants on the show for not being smart, was greatly appreciated by fans.

So, following the death of Alex Trebek, the longtime host of 'Jeopardy', fans began throwing several names on who could be his possible successor. One of the names that several fans kept throwing around was none other than Lynch's. Many fans felt that the former 'Glee' star would be great as the new host of 'Jeopardy'.

During an interview with WOGL- FM 98.1, when she was asked to share her thoughts on her hosting Jeopardy, the actress had quite a few thoughts on it. Lynch revealed that she would accept the offer to host the popular game show in a heartbeat, but also suggested another celebrity's name who she felt might be a better fit for the role. Lynch said, "I would jump at the chance to (host ‘Jeopardy’). Absolutely, I would do it in a New York minute. But I also have been reading on Twitter, they’ve been bouncing names around, and I thought LeVar Burton would be very good. He’s a brilliant guy, he taught a lot of kids to read…I think it would be a great extension of the service that he’s providing the world. But of course, if they asked me, you bet I’d do it.”

The lockdown and social distancing that has been imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic has affected people badly. People of all walks of life were affected by the new norm of staying cooped up at home, it was no different with Lynch. In another interview with MAGIC 106.7, the 'Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' star shared her experience of hosting 'The Weakest Link', and how it was a 'lifesaver' for her during the depressing pandemic. She said, "I got a little depressed, not just because the pandemic but I like doing things. So ‘The Weakest Link’ came along at the perfect time…that was a lifesaver to get back to work.”
