Thanos creator James Starlin compares Trump to a 'teenage girl who's had a bad day' after watching the president's snap video

When asked if he wanted the video taken down, Starlin said, 'No, the First Amendment protects it under satire if nothing else. I feel that the only thing I can do is sit there and speak out about it.'

Artist James Starlin (also known as Jim Starlin) took to slamming President Donald Trump after his campaign published a meme with Trump's head on the body of Thanos, the Marvel Comics villain he created.

The official Twitter account called TrumpWarRoom managed by the Trump 2020 campaign, tweeted a video where Trump’s head was morphed on the body of Thanos in a scene from ‘Avengers: Endgame’. In the video, the Trump-Thanos can be snapping his fingers and saying “I am inevitable,” after which, the video cuts to another clip in which House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats disintegrate.

The caption read, “House Democrats can push their sham impeachment all they want. President Trump's re-election is inevitable.”

As per a Fox News report, Starlin said that he was “shocked” and "saddened" by the meme. He said, “I am old enough where I remember our presidents -- when they spoke to the public -- they did so to encourage, to inspire, to lead, not to complain like some teenage girl who's had a bad day. And that's what I see so much going on with this particular administration.”

When asked by CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin if he wanted the video taken down, Starlin said, “No, the First Amendment protects it under satire if nothing else. I feel that the only thing I can do is sit there and speak out about it.”

Starlin had earlier written on Facebook about the meme in question: “After my initial feeling of being violated, seeing that pompous dang fool using my creation to stroke his infantile ego, it finally struck me that the leader of my country and the free world actually enjoys comparing himself to a mass murderer,” adding, “How sick is that? These are sad and strange times we are going through. Fortunately all things, even national nightmares, eventually come to an end.”

Starlin was not the only comic book creator to criticize the video. Joshua Dysart, who has written Valiant Comics Bloodshot, stated on Twitter, “His own campaign is willing to identify Trump as a galactic terrorist who killed billions (and then was ultimately defeated by liberals) just so they can make his hands look bigger.”
