James Bulger's father warns that his son's murderer Jon Venables could kill again as he is set to be released and given a new identity

Jon Venables abducted and killed two-year-old James Bulger in 1993 when he himself was only 10 years old. He was thrown behind bars twice after serving his sentence for James' murder, with his most-recent conviction related to child porn.
UPDATED AUG 19, 2019

The father of murdered two-year-old James Bulger recently warned the public his son's killer is set to be released from prison and that he could kill again.

Ralph Bulger, 53, believes that if Jon Venables is granted parole, he will continue committing monstrous crimes, Daily Mail reports.

Venables was 10 years old in 1993 when he abducted James from a shopping center in Bootle, Merseyside and later tortured him to death. The murderer, now 36, was thrown behind bars twice after serving his sentence for little James' murder, with his most-recent conviction related to child porn.

However, heartbroken father Ralph Bulger has now warned that Venables remains a danger to children as he becomes eligible for an early release and prepares to get back on the streets with a new identity.

"Venables is up for parole any time now and if it is granted, he will be released into the community under a fake name and secret new identity," he told the Mirror. "He is a dangerous, predatory child abuser and killer and I am terrified he will strike again and harm another child like my James."

According to Ralph, he has "begged" the parole board to deny an early release to his son's killer saying he "will never be safe around children."

"There is a whole new generation of young parents with kids who knew nothing about Venables when he murdered James 26 years ago," he said. "They need to be warned that this monster could be living next door to them any day soon."

James was beaten to death with a brick on a railway line by Venables and fellow killer Robert Thompson, making the toddler a victim to one of the UK's most heinous and notorious crimes in modern history.

While Venables has been given a series of different identities since his first conviction in 1993, he is consistently exposed by several outraged members of society.

Since being released from custody, Venables, along with Thompson, was granted lifelong immunity. However, Thompson has never been heard of again.

On the other hand, Venables grabbed headlines time and again after being jailed twice more upon admitting to possessing more than 1,000 'sickening' child porn images along with a so-called pedophile manual.
