Jon Venables, who brutally killed little James Bulger, could reportedly be released from prison within weeks despite having committed repeated child sex crimes.

Venables served eight years in secure juvenile detention for killing the two-year-old with pal Robert Thompson back in 1993 when the pair were just aged 10.

Following the sentence, both Venables and Thompson were released on licence with lifelong anonymity. However, Venables was once again thrown behind bars for possessing images of child sex abuse.

Now, the parole board is considering whether to release Venables. A hearing for the now-38-year-old convict is expected to be scheduled in a matter of weeks.

But James' devastated father Ralph Bulger, 53, has now warned that Venables will kill again if freed from prison.

“He went on to commit more crimes against children. I don’t believe he will stop until he has killed again," he told the Mirror. “It’s vital that when it takes place the parole board looks in depth at the sexual abuse of James when he was tortured and murdered by Venables and Thompson. It is directly linked to Venables’ later sex crimes against children."

“If they don’t take this into account, they are failing to deal with the magnitude of how dangerous he is," Bulger continued. “He is a dangerous, predatory child abuser and killer and I am terrified he will strike again and harm another child like my James.”

According to the heartbroken father, the parole board should be "called into question" and held accountable if they let Venables out again and he commits further crimes.

“Ever since James was murdered in 1993, the sexual torture of James has been brushed under the carpet," Bulger explained. “Venables might have been 10 years old then but now he is a grown man and a predator with a disgusting lust for children. He is wired wrong and has always been."

“Keeping him in prison is the only way to make sure he can’t target kids again," he added.

In 1993, Venables and Thompson lured little James away from his mother at a Liverpool shopping center before brutally torturing and murdering him and leaving his body on train tracks.

There has not been any news of Thompson since the incident, but Venables reportedly went on to commit other sordid crimes. He was jailed in 2010 and then in February 2018, when he pleaded guilty to possessing more than 1,000 indecent images of children and received a 40-month sentence.
