NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congress Representative Jamaal Bowman has speculated that President Joe Biden might not see another term in the White House because of his response to the Israel-Palestine war.

Bowman, who has been at the center of several controversies recently, spoke up about Biden "not holding Israel responsible for their behavior" related to "the occupation, the open-air prison that is Gaza, or the war crimes."

Bowman addressed this as he appeared on MSNBC's 'The Mehdi Hasan Show'.

Jamaal Bowman claims Israel-Palestine war could 'cost' Joe Biden reelection

Host Mehdi Hasan brought up the question as he referred to recent polls showing the unpopularity of Biden.

Hasan asked, "How much damage is Joe Biden's support for Israel doing to the Democratic base? And how much is that going to cost him in places like Michigan with younger voters, Arab-American voters? A key battleground state, which, thanks to that new poll from The Times, we already know he's struggling even before this war."

He then asked, "Could this war cost him [Joe Biden] reelection?"

"Yes, it could," Bowman replied with certainty.

"It's one thing to support Israel, which the US has always done and will continue to do," Bowman said, before adding, "It's another thing to never hold Israel accountable for their behavior whether it's related to the occupation, the open-air prison that is Gaza, or the war crimes that are taking place right now during this siege."

Jamaal Bowman claims Joe Biden and United States 'has to do better'

Bowman continued his criticism of Israel's military operation claiming, "I mean, Israel was very clear from the beginning. 'We're gonna cut off water, food, electricity'. They used white phosphorus. In terms of collective punishment, that's what's happening right now."

Bowman added, "Moving half the country from one part of the Strip to the other or trying to within 24 hours. These are things that President Biden hasn't been strong enough in holding Israel to account."

Bowman claimed that certain communities would be outraged by Biden's response and disapprove of him in the 2024 elections.

He said, "The Muslim community, the Arab community, the Palestinians hear that loud and clear and receive that as erasure and even further receive it as dehumanization."

Taking historical context into account, he blamed the US's response to war, including the October 7 attacks by Hamas.

"And this is where the President has to do better. But this is where the United States has to do better as well because it's not just this president or this war. This is historical."
