Every healthy and sound relationship is built on one thing - good communication. The ability to clearly communicate how you feel or even read between the lines for that matter is what can make or break a relationship.

For the couples on 'Married at First Sight', communication really is the key, seeing that they end up married to a practical stranger, it's up to them to communicate just what they want and need from their partner and relationship if they hope to make it past decision day and onwards to their happily ever after.

'Married At First Sight': How long will Haley and Jacob stay married? Fans think the couple has zero chemistry

Unfortunately, this seems like the exact reason why Jacob Harder and Haley Harris are struggling to make their marriage work. The couple started off fairly well, they seemed to get along for the most part, although Harris didn't know what to make of Harder's '80s obsession. But compared to all the drama happening around them, they seemed stable enough. They even consummated their marriage, which seemed like a step in the right direction.

However, Harder was quick to realize that Harris was coming off as resigned and guarded. No matter how hard he tried, nothing seemed to get through to her. The final straw happened over the last few days of their honeymoon when Harris said that she was stepping out for a girl's night. As per her, it was only the women, until some of their husbands eventually joined them. Harder, who stepped down for dinner saw the group and was visibly upset - he thought that he was being singled out.

To make matters worse, Harris chose to change her seat on the flight back, further deepening the wedge between them. As the couple moved into their new apartment, things really got explosive as Harder accused Harris of possible cheating and still being entangled with an ex. Harder eventually apologized for the outburst, but they two seemed to have a tough time reconciling.

Pastor Cal had them address their intimacy and interpersonal issues during the counseling session. While Harder was under the impression that he should address their relationship as a married couple, Harris was taking it way slower and treading water carefully. Having not been in a relationship for a considerable amount of time before tying the knot, she was still warming up to the idea of even small habits of intimacy, like hugs and holding hands.

The pair seemed to fare far better after they had a housewarming party with their friends, where Harder cleared the air about the couple's fight and how they were trying to make it work. The two still don't have quite a lot of common ground, save for their love for their dogs, but they're definitely putting more effort toward making it work. However, it's clear to see that the pair might not be as compatible as experts thought they would. At this point, their relationship can go either way. Guess we'll have to wait and see if they can make it work.
