Jackie Chan's daughter says she has been homeless for a month due to "homophobic parents"
Jackie Chan's daughter, Etta Ng, and her girlfriend, Andi Autumn, claim that they have been homeless for a month and living under the bridge because of their "homophobic parents". The pair posted a video on YouTube last week claiming they had run out of options as their friends and family have refused to support them.
“We’ve been homeless for a month due to homophobic parents. We pretty much slept under a bridge, and other things,” Etta said in the video. “We’ve gone to the police, we’ve gone to the hospitals, the food banks, the LGBTQ community shelters and all of them just don’t give a s—"
At this point, Andi weighed in and said, "We will have to be split up if we go to any kind of government facility.”
“We don’t know what to do at this point,” she continued. “We just want to let people know what’s going on because at this point it seems ridiculous that no one can help. I don’t understand.” Etta is Jackie's daughter with Elaine Ng, with whom the actor had a relationship while he was still married to his current wife Joan Lin. Jackie has always refrained from talking about his daughter publicly.
While Etta pleads people for help, her mother, Elaine believes she needs to take control of her life and look for a job. Talking to Coconuts she said, "I feel that if they have no money, they should go find work. They shouldn’t film a clip telling others they are broke and who Etta’s father is. People all over the world work hard and don’t rely on someone else’s fame to get money.”
Jackie and Etta never have had a good relationship. Speaking to Express, Etta made it a point to let the world know that she and the actor are not in any connection. She said that he “never existed in my life. I will never regard him as a father.” “I would not say that he is my dad. I would say, ‘Oh, Jackie Chan, an actor,'” she continued.
Meanwhile, Etta has been public about her sexuality and took to Instagram on October to introduce the world to her girlfriend. In a series of pictures that she had uploaded, she declared her love for Andi. As soon as the couple posted the video, they got a lot of positive response. “I am in awe of the amount of support and love poured my way,” Ng wrote in the caption. “I am speechless at how followers went to my Girlfriend @andiautumn and my account to show us both so much positivity.
