Jace Evans: 'Teen Mom' star Jenelle Evans’ son to be placed in foster care after running away from home for the fourth time
OAK ISLAND, NORTH CAROLINA: 'Teen Mom' star Jenelle Evans’ son Jace Evans has been hospitalized after he ran away from his grandmother Barbara’s house for the "fourth time."
The 14-year-old will be taken into custody by Child Protective Services who will place him in foster care after he is released from the hospital because he has run away so many times, TMZ reports.
Why did Jace Evans run away?
Sources told the outlet that the teenager got in trouble at school for vaping.
He had previously run away from Jenelle’s home several times and was placed under the care of Jenelle’s mother Barbara.
Barbara took his phone away as punishment which led to him running away for the fourth time. Jace ran away from Barbara’s home on Saturday, November 18, and was not found until 11.45 pm Sunday, November 19.
Barbara was advised by Jenelle, CPS, and the foster care team not to give him a phone, but thought he could handle having it, the outlet reported.
If Jace Evans gets in more trouble, he may end up in a juvenile detention facility
Jace has primarily lived with Barbara until Jenelle regained custody of him this year. He ran away for the first time in September after stepdad David was accused of injuring him. The insider told the outlet said that if Jace gets into more trouble he may end up in a juvenile detention facility.
"CPS officials are exasperated by the case -- they're worried about Jace, but at this stage, if he gets in any more trouble, he could end up in a juvenile detention facility," the outlet reported.
According to court documents obtained by the publication, David is accused of injuring Jace in a way that left "marks on the right art and left and right side of [his] neck."
David was charged with a misdemeanor count of child abuse and will be required to go to court later in November to address the charge.
Jace Evans was technically under Child Protective Services
Jace was moved out of his mother and stepfather’s home after the earlier incident and was sent to live with Jenelle’s mother Barbara again.
He was technically under the custody of Child Protective Services which removed him from his mother and stepfather’s home, Daily Mail noted. Reportedly, Jace has been keeping his distance from Jenelle and David.
