Will Donald Trump sacrifice Ivanka to save himself? 'She will go to prison before Donald,' says Michael Cohen
President Donald Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen feels the former business tycoon will send his own children to jail first before admitting his own guilt. Speaking to MSNBC on Tuesday, November 10, Cohen was in a mood to launch an all-out attack on the president during his talks with Ari Melber. He predicted that the incumbent president, who lost to Joe Biden in the recently held US elections, knows very well that he will be removed to make way for the Democrat before the Inauguration Day in January.
Cohen, who worked with Trump till 2018 and saw his world crumbling down over finance rules violations and fraud and was handed a jail term of three years but released in May this year on a medical furlough, told the channel: “I believe Trump does go to jail and if it’s not Trump, he’ll push one of the kids, probably Don, Jr. before Ivanka… definitely, Eric before Ivanka, but Ivanka will go to prison before Donald because that’s just who he is.”
The 54-year-old then added: “There is enough actions. Look, I’m suing Donald Trump right now and the Trump Organization. There is so much litigation that will come. All of the people who probably aren’t watching the show, the Republicans and the followers of Donald Trump, don’t give him your money so he has a slush fund to use your money to pay for his dirty deeds. I don’t understand what people are thinking.”
Questions have been raised over the future of Ivanka, Trump’s most visible child during his stint at the White House, after the election results came out. The 39-year-old businesswoman has been the president’s senior adviser along with her husband Jared Kushner. Many consider her to be a leader of the future and she is reportedly trying to convince her father to concede defeat, perhaps to ensure that her own political future is not endangered. Already, there are slogans rising from the supporters of the Trump family that Ivanka should run for the presidency in 2024 and take on Biden as the young and modern woman with a celebrity status is seen someone befitting to lead the nation in a not-so-distant future.
Cohen, who penned a tell-all book named ‘Disloyal: A Memoir’ during his jail term to reveal many facts about the president, also said that the latter lacks the “inner strength” to accept his defeat and attend the inauguration of Biden.
The disgraced and disbarred lawyer also said on the show what potential scenarios could unfold in the coming months as Trump continued to deny the results that went in favor of the former vice president. He and his close aides have refused to concede defeat and questioned the election as something less than transparent.
Cohen also said that people needn’t be too concerned with what Trump says because he feels the latter “talks a lot of nonsense”. “It’s all a lie, 99.9% of everything that comes out of his mouth is a lie. He’s not going to stay in the White House past Jan. 20. They will remove him. He knows that,” he said. He also predicted that Trump might not return to the White House from his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, after his Christmas visit there and stay away till Biden’s inauguration gets over.
“I suspect he doesn’t even come back to Washington,” Cohen said. “I don’t believe he’s going to go to the inauguration because he himself fundamentally cannot sit in a chair knowing that the cameras are on him and that the world is looking at him as a loser. He cannot do that.”
“He does not have enough inner strength in him to be gracious,” he added.
