Doing things together, whether on the professional front or in the personal sphere, seems to be the secret behind Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner's successful relationship of 13 years. The first daughter and her husband not only work for President Donald Trump as senior advisers, they also collaborate on other businesses as well as make time for each other during meals and workouts.

Ivanka and Jared tied the knot in 2007 and since then there has been no looking back for the couple. Unlike Ivanka's father, she and her husband have never made headlines due to relationship problems. They were first paired up after a Trump Organization associate thought they could make good deals together. Soon both of them discovered that they had a natural affinity for business and their relationship was the best deal they ever made. At the time Ivanka was focusing on her father’s real estate business and Jared also came from a family background that enabled him to help him share the same interests as his wife.

Fellow Trump advisers

Jared was a former newspaper publisher and marrying into the Trump family might have helped set up his real estate business, but he surely had no plans to end up in the White House. However, everything changed in 2016 when Trump won the presidency and appointed Ivanka and Jared as his senior advisers. The couple moved to Washington D.C. and began aiding the president, becoming part of his closest circle.

While the demands of the job have taken a toll on many of Trump's advisers - former campaign adviser Kellyanne Conway left to focus on her family, Ivanka and Jared never faced any such issues as they often spent time together on the job, which further strengthened their bond. While being tasked with improving the American workforce, Ivanka always made time to join Jared on trips abroad in his role as a foreign adviser.

Workout buddies

The couple, who love to remain fit, also workout together. Ivanka often shares her workout routine on her social media profiles and says she prefers to exercise in the early morning before her three children wake up. This way, she says, she can squeeze in some quality time for herself. As a way to de-stress and bond at the same time, Ivanka and Jared are regularly spotted out on runs with the Secret Service, apart from their 5 am gym sessions. According to The Washington Post, the couple previously attended Flywheel spinning classes (staged in a dark room) so that they could sweat it out in public without being noticed.

Bonding over food

Jared and Ivanka also bond over food. After converting to Judaism to marry Jared, Ivanka cooks kosher in keeping with her spouse’s upbringing. The pair turn off their phones every Friday evening for quality family time together, beginning with a sabbath meal, Jared told Vogue in 2015. The couple has also advocated for healthy eating, despite the fact that they end up having business dinners and date nights almost every other day. For one, they try to limit carbohydrates, which Ivanka has admitted was in every meal when she was younger.
