President Donald Trump's former wife Ivana is being heavily criticized for making disturbing comments on US immigration. On Monday, September 14, Ivana appeared on the morning show 'Loose Women', where she said she is “very proud” of her ex-husband, especially for “all he has achieved with immigration”. Shortly after that, she started ranting about immigrants while accusing some of “stealing and raping American women”.

When the show host, Jane Moore, asked her if she is proud of Trump, Ivana responded, “Very proud. He was my husband of 15 years, I wish him all the best. I see he can do a great job, he is pro at everything which I believe in. He is Republican and so am I. He has achieved so much — especially with immigration. I am an immigrant, and I have no problem with the immigrants, but they must come into the country legally and get a job and pay taxes like the rest of the Americans and just live and be part of society. There are some people who don't even dress Americanly, they dress whatever they dress in and they don't get a job and they steal and they rape the women and that is not the idea.”

When Moore asked if Ivana felt her views on immigration could be taken in a bad light, she replied: “It is inhumane, but everybody has to pick themselves up. They have to properly apply for the visa so they can come to America and cross the border properly and get a job, have a house, start a family.” The host interrupted her rant by saying: “But those opportunities are very few and far between nowadays. Aren't they?” Ivana replied: “They are, but the people who will prevail, the people who want to work will prevail, the people who want to get food stamps and sleep on the benches, this is what we don't want.”

Her comments did not go down well with people on Twitter who started slamming her. One user tweeted: “Meanwhile today on UK tv #LooseWomen, #IvanaTrump spouting racist shit. The irony of her, who through marriage got a chance to live her American dream is now asking for the door to be closed on others, including desperate people & then accused them of being rapist is disgusting!” Another person wrote, “Ivana Trump could write a book on how to age with the least possible amount of dignity.” “Ivana Trump appears on British tv show looking bloated and full of shit.  Racism seems to run in the family,” added a third user.

During the show, Ivana also mentioned that she can speak to the president any time. “It took about two years until our prenuptial agreement was finalized and we split whatever we had to split. We spoke about our kids — we have three wonderful kids to raise. They needed people to look after them and guide them and so after that, we became very good friends,” she added.

However, Ivana also clarified that she does not like to be involved in Trump’s private life. “I speak directly to Mr President. I don't get involved with his private life, we speak about our children but I don't give him advice. I tell him what I think is right and wrong.” When Ivana was asked to say something about Melania — the first lady, she said, “I am not sure, she's very quiet and she doesn't go to too many places. She goes when she has to go but she's quiet.” At the end, she also spoke highly about her daughter Ivanka: “I think she's in the White House every day, she's next to her father every day, she knows all that is going around... I think she could be one day the first woman president, definitely. She's smart as hell, she's beautiful.”

The 71-year-old Ivana is herself Czech-born and lives in New York. She was married to the president from 1977 to 1990 and share three children with him, Donald Trump Jr, Ivanka and Eric.
