After that heartbreaking scene between Sang-tae (Oh Jung-se) and Kang-tae (Kim Soo-hyun) at the end of 'It's Okay to Not be Okay' Episode 9, a lot about Kang-tae sees a change in the end of episode promo. Sang-tae was enraged by the fact that his best friend Mun-yeong (Seo Ye-ji) would go out with his brother on a trip as the two of them left him behind. What was worse was that his brother lied to him about the whole deal and Sang-tae ended up learning the truth from someone else and that resulted in a blowout unlike never before. He lashes out at Kang-tae and everything that he had kept buried about his brother, all the anger comes bursting out.

Now in the promo, we see Kang-tae clearly affected by everything that his brother had said and he seems to be suffering from his guilt resurfacing. He had hesitated momentarily before saving his brother who had almost drowned when they were children and that guilt seems to be pushing him away from everything good that he had built towards in the past few weeks. His relationship with Mun-yeong also suffers because she was the catalyst that pushed Sang-tae to that extent.

He even asks her why she had to save him and have him lead a life like his present and this is a reflection of how he had asked the same question the first time he had told her the truth about knowing who Mun-yeong really was. While she had assumed that he would be thankful for being saved, he had instead told her that he wished that he was dead and she hadn't saved him at all. At that moment, Kang-tae had reached the threshold of holding all of his emotions in to care for his brother. Now, he is building the wall back up and this time even Mun-yeong might not be able to break it down.

In fact, when he seemingly tells her to leave him alone, she tells him that somehow its sounds to her as if he is telling her not to leave. Yet, Kang-tae might not put up with her at the moment because very soon another scene in the promo shows Mun-yeong sitting by herself at the dining table complaining about how she misses Kang-tae and would like to see him. Will Mun-yeong and Kang-tae's relationship survive the fractured remnants of Kang-tae and Sang-tae's relationship?

It is clear that Sang-tae and Kang-tae's relationship is going through a metamorphosis of sorts. The two have to change in order to make their relationship whole again, and these changes might as well put an end to Kang-tae's relationship with Mun-yeong.

'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' originally airs on tvN on Saturdays and Sundays at 9 pm KST in South Korea and can be streamed on Netflix.
