LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Big Shot', a sports comedy-drama starring John Stamos, has been canceled by Disney+ after two seasons. The sitcom apparently did not draw in a sizable viewership. It was already in jeopardy when word leaked last June that Peter Rice, a longtime Disney executive, had been fired in part for the studio's decision to prolong the barely watched show. The announcement comes months after Season 2 dropped on the streamer last October.

The series cast Stamos as coach Marvyn Korn, Sophia Mitri Schloss as his teenage daughter Emma, Richard Robichaux as George, Nell Verlaque as Louise, Tiana Le as Destiny, Tisha Eve Custodio as Carolyn, Cricket Wampler as Samantha, Yvette Nicole Brown as principal Sherilyn Thomas.

What is the plot of 'Big Shot'?

The television show, which was co-created by David E Kelley, Dean Lorey, and Brad Garrett, features the erratic Marvyn Korn (Stamos), a basketball coach who is fired from his position at the University of Wisconsin. He moves to California to take over the girl's basketball coaching position at Westbrook School, where he re-establishes contact with his teenage daughter Emma. Coach Korn returned to Westbrook in Season 2, aiming to prove both his team's eligibility for the D-2 level and his own mettle as the championship-winning, dominant coach he was in the NCAA.

'Big Shot was okay'

Viewers are in full support as the news of canceling the show breaks out on the internet. One viewer wrote, "They should invest in better non marvel and Star Wars shows lmao." "Wtf are these shows lol no wonder they getting canceled," tweeted one user. Viewers of the show also expected this decision to come, they said, "Kinda expected this after S2 ending but was hoping for more, it was actually fun show." Another user made a point saying, "Big Shot was okay at best. The idea of the show was so much better than the actual final product that we got. So, honestly, it's not that big of a loss IMO." An unenthusiastic fan tweeted, "I watched one episode, and never watched it again." Jumping on the discussion, a user said, "After that S2 I saw it coming. S1 was peak tho."
