'It’s a huge allegation': 'RHOP' star Mia Thornton opens up about Gizelle Bryant's embezzlement jab
POTOMAC, MARYLAND: Mia Thornton calls Gizelle Bryant's embezzlement jab against her foul. The 'RHOP' star responded to Gizelle's embezzlement jab on Page Six’s 'Virtual Reali-Tea' podcast, saying, "Do I feel like it was foul for her to bring that up on this platform? Sure." Thornton also added, "Why would I go public if we were stealing money? Like, come on now. I would probably keep that quiet."
During Part 1 of the Season 7 reunion of the 'Real Housewives of Potomac,' Bryant questioned Thornton’s financial story, saying, "It looked very much like a little bit of embezzlement. Kind of? Like there was money that you guys were taking from the company." She further added, "And that was paying for the house, that was paying for the renovation. And then you were cut off from that bank account. So it looked a little bit embezzling."

Mia Thorton's financial condition
The Real Housewives star, who helps her husband Gordon Thornton in operating a chain of chiropractic clinics called The Joint Chiropractic, alleged that Gordon's siblings stole their money. Thornton took to Instagram to make the shocking announcement, she wrote, “Please pray for our family. Gordon’s brothers who he trusted to support and carry on the family legacy have recently revoked his access to the company back account while we were out of the country.”
She continued, “I practically birth these clinics so I’m feeling defeated right now. God has been preparing me for the ultimate fight of my life.” Thornton also stated that she had never experienced such pain before.
Also, in October 2022, Thornton posted another post on Instagram regarding her financial situation, she wrote, "I’ve since learned that my salary will no longer continue past this next payroll cycle due to my unwavering loyalty to Gordon."
Thornton is living off her family’s savings and the family recently downsized from their Maryland mansion to a penthouse. But during the podcast, the 'RHOP' star assured her fans that she currently has her “s—t in order, so there are no worries” on the financial front.
Mia and Bryant's friendship
Thornton and Bryant used to be good friends and co-stars, Thornton claims that she considered Gizelle as her good pal. After this incident, Thornton is not concerned about the future of her friendship with Bryant. "It’s a huge allegation, and it’s not something that we want to play with," says Thornton. "But do I feel betrayed? No. Because I’m a realist. I want you to say exactly what you’re thinking to me. Just don’t say it behind my back, right?", she added.
