In 'Itaewon Class' Episode 9 we saw how Cho Yi-seo played Jang Geun-won into confessing his crime to her. She was smart and recorded the confession which she played for Geun-won to explain why she would never side with Geun-won or his father Jang Dae-hee. In episode 10, we see the conversation between the two continue, and this time, after dumping a cup of hot coffee on his face, Yi-seo tries to run away. Geun-won, however, catches up and even slaps her around. She tells him that this is Itaewon where there are people from around the world who would come to defend her.

Geun-won, being the brat that he is, throws cash around to stop anyone from interrupting him. Park Sae-ro-yi, however, arrives just in time to stop him and ensure that Yi-seo is safe. Someone also calls the cops to ensure that Geun-won doesn't escape, and he is restrained. Now that Sae-ro-yi has access to the recording, he comes up with a plan that might help him take Geun-won and his father Dae-hee down.

Yi-seo releases the recording on social media, and this results in Jang Corporation's share prices drop down dangerously. Now that it has, Sae-ro-yi brings Yi-seo in on his plans and also introduces her to Ho-jin and Kang Min-jang. Just in time, the detective who had investigated Sae-ro-yi's father's death also surrenders and confesses that the investigation was corrupted. This leads to a reinvestigation, which helps Min-jang, one of the shareholders of Jang, encroach the topic of removing Chairman Dae-hee from his position for letting his family issues influence Jang Corporation.

The risk lies in understanding if Dae-hee will abandon his son for his company or if he will continue to help his son escape from the punishment that awaits him in the court of law. Initially, it seems as if Dae-hee will not give up on his son. When Min-jang herself broaches the topic of dismissing Geun-won from the company, he refuses to let go of his son. He repeats the same when Soo-ah explains that this is the best approach to keep Jang Corp under his control. Armed with the knowledge that Dae-hee will support his son, Sae-ro-yi and his allies move forward with their plan.

However, Dae-hee has them fooled. His plan was to use this chance to find out who is really on his side. Just as Sae-ro-yi had expected, Dae-hee does abandon his son to keep his corporation under his control and Sae-ro-yi faces a crushing defeat. Yet, it was not a complete loss and that is exactly what the episode centers on. Geun-won was sentenced to seven years in prison for his crime and Sae-ro-yi continues to walk the path of seeking revenge.

Yi-seo's support has so far worked in his favor, but Sae-ro-yi might lose one of his employees in the process of exacting revenge. Geun-soo, Dae-hee's illegitimate son works at DanBam and it has finally dawned upon Geun-soo that Sae-ro-yi will not stop until he wins over his father, come what may. Sae-ro-yi reiterates this by telling Geun-soo that he will not be walking on eggshells around him because winning over Dae-hee is his life's purpose. He explains to Geun-soo that he had never hidden the fact that Dae-hee was his enemy and going forward, he would continue to do the same. While this is harsh, Sae-ro-yi feels that he has to be direct with Geun-soo.

This conversation leads to Geun-soo understanding that he has to find his place in Jang. He continues to be impressed by Sae-ro-yi and his honesty, but Geun-soo has now decided to take Yi-seo's advice. He will now take Jang Corp over, and with his brother out of the picture for seven years, this gives him the perfect chance. How his relationship with Sae-ro-yi, Yi-seo and others at DanBam will change over the course is something we would have to wait and watch.
