MEXICO: It is pretty much safe to say that Rachel Recchia's hometown date with Tino Franco was an absolute disaster. 'The Bachelorette' star was almost in tears when Tino's father began grilling her about her intentions of joining the dating show and seeing his son. While the writing was clear on the wall that Tino's parents disapproved of Rachel, Tino however kept trying to console her by insisting that they adored her.

Rachel and 'The Bachelorette' fans were left feeling iffy with the way Tino handled the whole situation. The pilot decided to give Tino another chance by having him over for fantasy suites week. Ahead of their overnight date, Tino admitted to the show's host Jesse Palmer that his parents were very hard on Rachel. During their date, when Rachel tried expressing her fears and concerns about Tino's family not accepting her, he once again downplayed her feelings by insisting that they would come around and accept her.

Tino tried to calm Rachel's fears by listing out all her amazing qualities and declaring that he was in love with her. While Rachel was happy with his explanation, 'The bachelorette' fans however weren't willing to let Tino off the hook just yet. Many fans felt that the contractor was not only downplaying Rachel's very valid concerns but also gaslighting her by not acknowledging them.
