Is Park Ji-sung OK? NCT Dream star won't perform for a while due to knee injury, leaves fans 'devastated'

18-year-old Ji-sung is the main dancer, lead rapper and sub-vocalist for NCT Dream and recently hurt his knee while perfecting a complex choreography

K-pop band NCT Dream’s Park Ji-sung will not be accompanying his members for a while as SM Entertainment has released an official statement notifying fans about the rapper’s knee injury. Ji-sung who is the main dancer, lead rapper and sub-vocalist for NCT Dream has hurt his knee while perfecting a complex choreography. According to the official statement of SM Entertainment, “Member Jisung injured his knee this year during choreography practice, and he is receiving treatment."

“It has been judged that it would be difficult for him to perform excessive movements such as dance performances in his current state. Therefore, after discussion with Jisung, it was decided that he will unavoidably not be taking part in future scheduled activities that include performances. We ask fans for your understanding. As our artist’s recovery from his injury is the top priority, we will do our best for his treatment” the statement read.

The 18-year-old rapper has also shared a picture of his knee injury through social media which immediately sparked fans to come in his support and flood the internet with wishes for his speedy recovery.



 

One fan wrote, “That sucks! I'm literally shaking and crying right now He must have prepared so hard for p2 and this sh*t happened I'm totally devastated:"( But his health is the most important now Have enough rest and recover fast Jisung~ah.. I'm here to support you through the hard times :")” while another echoed the same wish saying, “jisung-ah, i hope you won’t be sad for too long tho i know it must be so hard for you it’s ok, you’ll get better soon and rock the stage again baby ji”



 



 

Jisung who was currently working on the NCT group project NCT 2020, made his debut in NCT Dream in 2016 with the single Chewing Gum. Since then, he has taken part in multiple NCT projects the latest two being NCT 2020 and NCT U with the song Faded In My Last Song. 2020 is a huge year for NCT fans as all NCT members have come together for the first time to deliver their latest hit NCT Resonance Part 1. This unlimited potential project as stated by SM Entertainment has been brought together by NCT 2020 where 21 members of NCT Dream, NCT 127, and WayV joined hands along with adding two new members in the project. 

NCT Resonance Part 1 released in October this year, brought huge success for the group. Even before its release, 1.1 million preorders gave the album a huge boost. After the release, it charted number one on iTunes in 32 countries along with 815,628 copies sales in Korea. Top that with a whopping number of 400,470 copies sold abroad, in countries like China and the United States which gives the album a total of 1,216,098 copies sales within a week of its release. 

Resonance Pt.1 has also charted in Japan’s Oricon’s weekly albums chart at number 2 along with ranking high in QQ Music’s digital album chart in China, and Line Music’s album chart, and Rakuten Music’s real-time song chart in Japan.
