LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Good Morning America’ star Michael Strahan’s new gig as the host of ‘The $100,000 Pyramid’ hasn’t received all the praise from the show’s die-hard fans. The 51-year-old's performance is under scrutiny as the ‘Pyramid’ fans have slammed Strahan for helping the contestants in landing the correct answer.

Strahan returned as the host for the sixth season of ‘The $100,000 Pyramid’ and has been promoting the show diligently on his social media platforms. But despite all his best efforts to leave his mark, the ardent fans of the show are not on board with Michael’s gimmicks and the direction that the show has taken in the ongoing season.

Is Michael Strahan’s job as ‘The $100,000 Pyramid’ host in jeopardy?

After a few episodes of ‘The $100,000 Pyramid’, the fans have finally woken up to realize that the show isn’t fun and groovy as it used to be. Part of the problem for them is Michael Strahan. Taking to Reddit, a few fans discuss at length the problem with the show and deduced that despite the show taking a “way too easy” turn, Michael’s treatment of helping contestants or giving “freebies” (free points) has destroyed the sanctity of the show.

The post was titled, "$100,000 Pyramid (Strahan Version): Categories with Names are TOO easy!”, and the creator further explained, “I was watching reruns of the $100,000 Pyramid (Strahan version) on GSN, and in one of the rounds, the category involved famous Republicans. Some of the names were 'Lincoln', 'Reagan', 'Palin', and 'Limbaugh' and all the contestants had to do was say 'Abraham', 'Ronald', 'Sarah', and 'Rush'."

The Redditor protested that the contestant "finished the category in like 15 seconds because it took ZERO effort" and that the setup for the questions made answering correctly "WAY TOO EASY!” The Redditor offered a solution and stated, “They should have the full name that way the contestant would have to describe the actual person and not just say a first name. They tend to do this with categories involving people so it's a freebie category!" before asking, "Do you guys agree?”

Much of the heat was on the show’s current plight but if fans continue to revolt and criticise, the show producers might just consider Michael’s nomination as the host.

‘It just drives me crazy when it’s that easy’

The post was instantly spotted by a few ‘Pyramid’ fans who echoed the same sentiment as this Redditor. One fan said on Reddit, “I agree, I also think rhyming categories are way too easy. I'm not sure if that's supposed to be intended or not because you don't know if you're gonna get one of those categories.” Another fan said, “Yeah, it just drives me crazy when it’s that easy. But then again, looking at the skill quality of these contestants and especially the celebrities, it feels like they just learned how to play 15 minutes before. So maybe they need these easy categories to help them out. Makes it frustrating to watch though.”

One more user wrote, “The game is too easy and the celebrities are too bad. It’s like watching amateurs play a game that’s amazing when played by professionals." Another chimed in, saying, “Compared to the original, the current version is so dumbed down. The "celebrities" are dumb, the contestants are dumb, and the clues are embarrassingly simple. But they're still too difficult for the players.”
