Here's how Marvel's 'She Hulk' is like Elle Woods from 'Legally Blonde'
'Legally Blonde' is a cult classic. The Reese Witherspoon movie has a different fan base of its own, and the actress is identified strongly with the movie. However, no other law film had such a powerful actress at the forefront until Marvel decided to release 'She Hulk: Attorney at Law'.
If you have not watched 'Legally Blonde' yet then let me give you a brief introduction to what it is about. The film synopsis reads: "Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) has it all. She wants nothing more than to be Mrs. Warner Huntington III. But there is one thing stopping him (Matthew Davis) from proposing: She is too blond. Elle rallies all of her resources and gets into Harvard, determined to win him back." You can stream it on Hulu.

So you must be wondering how 'Legally Blonde' -- categorized as 'chick-flick' -- is similar to Marvel's super action film, 'She Hulk: Attorney at Law'? This will help you connect the dots. 'Legally Blonde's author Amanda Brown was going to Stanford Law School while being obsessed with fashion and beauty, reading Elle magazine, and frequently clashing with her peers which helped her curate the story from her own life experiences. According to a study, generations of young women were inspired by 'Legally Blonde' to pursue careers as lawyers.
Similarly, 'She Hulk: Attorney at Law' is about Jennifer Walters, who is a lawyer at the firm Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway (GLK&H). She specializes in cases involving superhumans who use their power for the good or the bad. However, she too is a superhuman and she wants betterment for the people around her regardless of their age, gender, class, and creed by using her super powers and abiding by the law.
Actress Tatiana Maslany of Marvel's 'She Hulk: Attorney at Law' spoke to Yahoo Entertainment at Comic Con about her thoughts on the Marvel Series. She said, "I've always loved comedy, and I've always been drawn to it, I've just never gotten to do it, really." She further went on talking about her inspiration or reference of the series, saying, "I have watched Legally Blonde, for me that's a reference. It's Marvel's Legally Blonde."
Maybe it's the righteousness in both the characters, or the head strong adamant demeanor of proving men, who try to 'mansplain' and say 'a woman cannot do it', wrong, which makes the two characters similar, but it surely is inspiring.
'She Hulk: Attorney at Law' is releasing on August 18, exclusively on Disney+.
