LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix's latest crime documentary, 'Lover, Stalker, Killer,' which debuted on February 9, is centered on the true story of a fatal love triangle that claimed the life of an innocent woman.

The documentary features a dramatization of the events leading up to the murder, as well as interviews with the investigators who worked relentlessly to solve the complex mystery.

The insightful documentary, directed by Sam Hobkinson, is receiving favorable critiques for its depiction of the sinister murder case.

The documentary centers on Dave Kroupa, a recently divorced guy who reconnected to the dating world with an emphasis on casual dating.

Kroupa created his profile on an online dating site and met Liz Golyar.

The two clicked right away and decided to go on additional dates, with Kroupa making it obvious that he wanted to maintain a casual relationship.

Golyar was initially content with the arrangement and was enjoying his new date's company, but everything changed when somebody different joined the picture.

The curious case of Cari Farver

Kroupa met Cari Farver after briefly dating Golyar and was immediately taken with her attractiveness.

Awestruk Kroupa started seeing her, much to Golyar's dismay. The new pair quickly got close, with Farver frequently staying at Korupa's flat.

However, things changed drastically when Farver encountered an unknown woman while leaving Koroupa's apartment and began sending bizarre texts to Korupa thereafter.

Following Korupa's denial of a live-in relationship, Farver began acting strangely.

She began sending bizarre texts to Korupa, including menacing threats, and it became suspicious to the point that she began sending texts and emails from 40 different phone and email addresses.

She was not seen physically, but was constantly handling things digitally, such as quitting her job and texting her mother.

Additionally, Cari began threatening Golyar with vandalising her car and setting her house on fire, killing her dogs as well.

Sergeant James Doty solved the intriguing case of Cari Farver's threats, which created a paranoid environment in 2015.

An IT professional assisted Sergeant in identifying the IP address of the snacks, which turned out to belong to Todd Butterbaugh, who had an on-and-off connection with Golyar.

It wasn't long before the tragically dark truth—far beyond anyone's wildest dreams—became clear.

Golyar was impersonating Farver all along to get back at Korupa and horrifyingly murdered her by stabbing her to death in her own car on or around November 13, 2012.

The woman, without hesitation, kept using her victim's identity to harass Korupa, and for the next three years, she roughly sent 15,000 emails and up to 50,000 text messages.

Golyar was convicted of first-degree murder and second-degree arson after two years of trial and sentenced to life in prison with parole.

'Lover, Stalker, Killer' is now streaming on Netflix.
