Is Lee Tae Gyun interested in Rio Yamashita? Song Ji Hyuk surprised by 'Love Like a K-Drama' co-star's feelings for his first leading lady
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: During a discussion with other men contestants, Lee Tae Gyun expressed his desire to pair up with Rio Yamashita for a scene, causing disappointment for Song Jihyuk.
Initially, Jihyuk appeared unwelcoming of Tae Gyun's choice, but he later acknowledged that he couldn't prevent Tae Gyun from choosing Rio.
Jihyuk also revealed that he had feelings for Rio and expressed his wish to explore the show with her. However, Jihyuk's apparent hesitation made Tae Gyun feel like it was problematic for him to pick Rio.
"Well, that's a problem. What do I do?" said Tae Gyun in his confessional video. "I'm interested in Rio, but I'm not sure what to do. I'm feeling a bit lost," he added.
Lee Tae Gyun tries to woo Rio Yamashita by speaking in Japanese
In a conversation about the best-tasting coffee, Rio expressed her preference for Korean coffee. Tae Gyun chimed in, asserting that coffee from Tokyo is the finest.
Tae Gyun's effort to convey this in Japanese brought a smile to Rio's face, showing her support and encouragement for his language-learning journey.
Rio shared in her confession how the effort made by Tae Gyun meant a lot to her. "Talking with him was fun," she said. "I wasn't expecting to speak in Japanese with him. He was trying to accommodate me," she added.
Judges take to Rio Yamashita more than Lee Tae Gyun in second audition
During Taegyun and Rio's performance, the judges appeared dissatisfied with Taegyun's presentation, noting a lack of expressions and a performance that fell short of expectations.
In contrast, they praised Rio for setting the tone effectively and delivering a strong act.
"Its a shame her scene partner didn't match her. In my opinion, Tae Gyun showed no reaction," said the judges.
Lee Tae Gyun shocked to know Honoka Kitahara likes him
When asked to choose her scene partner, all eyes were on Honoka as she was expected to select her apparent connection, Won Shik.
However, to everyone's astonishment, she uttered Tae Gyun's name.
In her confession video, she candidly revealed that her interest lay more with Tae Gyun than with Won Shik. The unexpected choice left Tae Gyun visibly shocked, unaware that Honoka held such feelings for him, as reflected in his surprised expression.
After the incident, even Won Shik became distant from Honoka, making her feel guilty.
