'American Idol' producers 'rattled' by Katy's behavior on show

'American Idol' fans are shouting for Katy's head, and producers are listening, according to RadarOnline.com. According to a source, the 38-year-old singer's "rude and condescending" statements to sad candidates have turned audiences against her.

"Katy has come under fire for harsh comments in the past, and now fans are upset over the way she humiliated a singing duo," a source explained. "She demanded they perform before they'd had a chance to rehearse, and then blasted their work as 'underwhelming' in front of a national audience!"

According to sources, 'American Idol' producers are aware of the criticism. Katy's cringeworthy statements have "got people behind the scenes wondering if she is past her expiration date," said an insider. "And producers are so rattled by Katy's behavior they're considering replacing her to keep the audience happy."

According to previous reports, Katy considers herself the 'Dark Horse' among the judges. "Katy says American Idol has turned into a boys' club with Luke and Lionel," one tipster said in February of the men's strong friendship. "They play pranks on each other and tell inside jokes."

Katy's snide remarks land her in trouble with producers

The current uproar comes after Katy mom-shamed 25-year-old competitor Sara Beth Liebe, who eventually dropped out of the singing competition. Katy appeared to wobble away from the panel's table after Sara announced she was a mother of three while fellow judge Luke Bryan fanned her.

"If Katy lays on the table," Sara replied, "I think I'm going to pass out."

"Honey, you've been laying on the table too much," Katy snubbed the embarrassed singer.

Katy's snide remark was not welcomed by everyone watching. Sara finally dropped out of the show, but she granted Katy a pass. Others, though, are not so forgiving of the drama queen. Katy originally appeared on 'American Idol' as a guest judge during Season 9, before coming on as a full-time judge.

'American Idol' Season 21 airs every Sunday and Monday at 8 pm ET on ABC
