MIAMI, FLORIDA: Kamren Kinchens, a Miami Hurricanes safety, had to be hospitalized following a tackle attempt on Saturday, September 9, during the team's stunning 48-33 victory over No 23 Texas A&M.

Kinchens was struck in the chest as he went to tackle Aggies receiver Ainias Smith late in the fourth quarter at Hard Rock Stadium. Following the tackle, the safety remained motionless, per CNN.

The All-American safety was alert and interacting with medical personnel as he left the field, per ABC's broadcast of the game. He was taken to the Miami Ryder Trauma Center.

Things 'relatively normal' with Kamren Kinchens

Mario Cristobal, Miami Hurricanes football team's head coach, said he was going to the trauma center to meet Kinchens after the game, and he remained optimistic despite not providing a proper diagnosis.

In the team's post-game press conference, Cristobal stated that testing on Kinchens appeared to be "relatively normal."

Cristobal said, "We’re going to head over there right after I get done with this press conference to see how he’s doing but it seems like we’re going to be fine."

Following this, Kinchens uploaded an Instagram post of the defensive back making the "U" sign while in the hospital.

With 1:33 remaining in the game on Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium, both teams' players took a knee while medical professionals attended to Kinchens.

The medical crew lifted Kinchens onto a stretcher and carried him off the field after tending to him for a while. He was later transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

With a quarterback interception of Aggies quarterback Conner Weigman in the third quarter, Kinchens had a strong game up to that point.

As per Daily Mail, Kinchens was a preliminary All-American in 2023 and in 2022.
