Is Justin Fields OK? Chicago Bears quarterback suffers dislocated thumb during Minnesota Vikings game
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Justin Fields, the quarterback for the Chicago Bears, unfortunately, suffered a hand injury, which turned out to be a dislocated thumb on his right hand, during the third quarter of their game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, October 15, making him doubtful about facing the Las Vegas Raiders on October 22.
In the Sunday match, the Vikings beat the Bears with a score of 19-13.
Justin Fields might not play against the Las Vegas Raiders
According to the Daily Mail, Justin Fields had an MRI scan on October 16, the results of which will shed more light on whether or not the quarterback will be sidelined in the match against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7.
Matt Eberflus, Bears coach, stated, "There's no timetable right now. It's really going to come down to grip strength and the natural swelling that occurs with this injury, so we should know more at the end of this week."
How did Justin Fields dislocate his thumb?
Justin Fields injured his thumb during the Bears' first drive of the third quarter after landing on his right arm while being sacked by Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter.
He tried to flip the ball in the direction of running back Darrynton Evans but fell to the ground.
After the fall, Fields headed to the injury tent before walking back to the locker room with a towel over the injured hand. His return looked questionable at first and was ruled out soon after.
When asked whether Fields had torn ligaments, Eberflus said, "It doesn't look like it's a negative thing but we'll see where it is."

Fields is the third team member on the Bears' injury report for October 16. Nate Davis, right guard, sustained a high ankle sprain against the Vikings and will be missing the game against the Raiders on October 22.
On the other hand, Corner back Terrell Smith will be sidelined for three to four weeks as a result of mononucleosis.
Tyson Bagent made his NFL debut as a fill-in for Justin Fields
Matt Eberflus praised the rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent for his performance on October 15, commenting, "I thought he really worked through it. Obviously the first series or so wasn't ideal. I think that you give him credit. He's a backup quarterback, a young guy, I think he came in there and had poise."

Bagent showed his potential by completing 10 of 14 passes for 83 yards, though the Bears lost the game.
The Bears hold a 1-5 record this season, their singular win coming against the Washington Commanders in Week 5.
