WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden has been facing people’s wrath online after making a Twitter post, claiming that “small businesses are the engine of the economy.”

On Saturday, November 26, the 81-year-old POTUS encouraged the community to shop from small businesses by sharing a picture of himself visiting a local shop.

“Small businesses are the engine of our economy and the heart and soul of our communities. On Small Business Saturday, I encourage you to support the folks in your community by shopping small,” the post caption read.

A day before the President was seen strolling through Nantucket, Massachusetts, and going into several small shops alongside First Lady Jill Biden, according to White House pool notes.

Biden Administration announces to invest $50 Million in small businesses

Biden’s Twitter post came after his administration announced new actions Saturday intended to increase support for small businesses. The government revealed via a tweet that the White House will invest $50 million of American Rescue Plan funds in over 10,000 small businesses.

This year, the government plans to provide $50 billion in small business loans, with significant increases going to "underserved businesses." In conclusion, the government declared that it will now prioritize "strengthening" ties in order "to invest in and support rural businesses."

“On Small Business Saturday, the Biden-Harris Administration celebrates the hardworking Americans who run our small businesses and keep our economy moving,” the administration wrote on X, adding “We’re committed to helping them grow and succeed.”

Additionally, the White House boasted in its thread about the "record 14.6 million applications" that had been "filed to start businesses" under the Biden administration. The "fastest growth in Black business ownership in over 30 years" was also praised in the post.

Internet reacts to President Biden’s post

President Biden’s post regarding small businesses has garnered immense social media attention, with many users slamming him for his work during his tenure.

“Small businesses have been hurting under Biden’s incompetent handling of the economy just like every other American. Inflation doesn’t discriminate and it’s hurting all of us. Biden has had almost 3 years to make things better and he’s only made things worse,” one user said.

“You are the reason why small businesses are moving out of Democrat-run cities... Stop acting like you care about the black community because you don't,” a second user wrote.

“You support them so much that you opened the border to let Millions of illegals into the country so Big Business will get cheap labor,” s third user fumed while a fourth stated, “You killed a huge sector of small businesses with your anti-American policies.”

“It's the way you focus on building Small businesses which are the engine of our economy and the heart and soul of our communities,” a fifth user slammed.

“Sir Biden Democrat lockdowns destroyed small businesses,” one more said. “Then start by reducing all the regulation you have imposed on these people,” another one wrote.
