'Zootopia 2' has a fun, surprise cameo leaving fans pleasantly surprised
Attendees in the house of Walt Disney Animated feature 'Zootopia 2', were treated to a familiar face. CEO of The Walt Disney Co., Bob Iger, delivers a quick cameo as 'Bob Tiger.' Fans later indeed confirmed that Iger voiced the weather forecast delivery line.
The role also marks the first-ever acting role for the Walt Disney head honcho. Iger joins a star-studded cast featuring Ke Huy Quan, Macaulay Culkin, Quinta Brunson, Robert Irwin, and Shakira. Over the years, Iger has had enough appearances in documentary and unscripted works, but this was his first appearance voicing an animated character.
As for 'Zootopia 2', the sequel to the 2016 film, 'Zootopia', the movie enjoyed a decent opening day outing, raking in $39 million on its opening day. In related news, directors Jared Bush and Byron Howard weighed in on the film and key characters Judy and Nick. "I think it’s just undeniable chemistry, in whatever form you want to see it," said Howard in an interview with Collider.
"It’s great because that means that people loved them in the first film. Because this film picks up literally a couple of weeks after the first one transpired, we get to see that chemistry and that conflict and that fun. That contrast goes to a whole new level, which has been great for the film."
"I accidentally stumbled into the most opinionated community about these characters, that being my three children," Bush added. "They have a lot of thoughts about what should happen in this film – what’s good, what’s not good, what’s going to ruin movies forever. That’s been a constant source of feedback that I’ve had from the last several years. I’m girded for this moment."
The official synopsis reads, "In Walt Disney Animation Studios 'Zootopia 2," detectives Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down.
