Is Bill Gates on Tinder? Parody dating app accounts spark meme fest, trolls say 'our relationship can Excel'

Soon after the couple announced their divorce, Tinder was abuzz with numerous fake profiles of Bill Gates and Twitter was having a field day with memes

Bill and Melinda Gates announced on Monday, May 3, that they were set to get a divorce after being together for 27 years. Since the news of their separation, the internet has been flooded with numerous theories about the couple, especially about Bill's dating life now that he's single. The couple tied the knot in January 1994 and share three children together.

Now that they have decided to go their separate ways, they shared a statement that read: “After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage. Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable people to lead healthy, productive lives. We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives. We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life.”

The internet, of course, has been buzzing with divorce memes. In fact, the dating app Tinder even has numerous parody profiles of the Microsoft founder looking for love. According to LADbible, one of the fake accounts of Bill on the online dating app mentions, “I'm still rich. I didn't read your bio becoz I know what they all says, 'I love dogs, pizza, not looking for hookups bla bla bla' boring...I've seen trees with more personality (sic).” It added, “Likes: Office365, Vaccines, boring girls without personalities (I hear they live here). Dislikes: iMacs, Anti-vaxxers, Google docs.”

A screenshot of a spoof account shared on Twitter read, “Bill 65”. The page called him “multi-billionaire” with a bio that read, “I can give you an exclusive third dose.” Not just that, people on Twitter were having a field day with hilarious memes and jokes on Bill and Melinda’s “irretrievably broken” marriage. One wrote, "I'm deleting tinder." Another user wrote, “When u find out that #BillGates is finally single #billgatesdivorce.” One joked, "Is Bill Gates going to join Tinder? And what is his bio going to be? I think it’s going to be “our relationship can Excel if we start now.”

A person joked, “Jeff Bezos welcoming Bill Gates to the Billionaire Divorcee Elite club after hearing the news of Bill And Melinda Gates divorce.” The other one stated, “Seeing Bill and Melinda Gates not Excel at their relationship has me like ‘Word?’ I wish our Windows weren’t closed but you made it a PowerPoint to stay away. Here’s hoping your future has a better Outlook.” Another said, “Melinda leaving Bill gates after 27 years because Bill named his company after his genitals... 'Microsoft'.”

“Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos having a hot boy summer as newly single men,” a comment on Twitter read. Another tweet read, “jeff bezos, kanye west, and bill gates rolling up for a hot boy summer.” One more said, “Bill Gates is getting divorced, sources say Melinda wasn’t happy with him being in the office365 days of the year.” Another added: “People are crazy on Twitter someone said ‘Bill Gates can now marry Jeff Bezos to become the most powerful couple in the World.’”
